Am about to buy mine from www.homeaccesscomputers.com so i get the educational software and at the checkout after ive entered credit card number its asking for "your grant code". has anyone bought from there and if so which code is it, the pin number hasnt come yet but thought could buy online without it, or is it the code on the acceptance letter starting HAG ????
Is that the code on your letter (it might also be on your credit card)?
  • XMA are doing MS Office - the others seem to be only offering a trial or open office, which is free anyway. I have wondered whether the Samsung advertising campaigns (TV, Phones, Chelsea players and the like) are steering people towards them - I know it crossed my mind that Toshiba don't advertise much - but I honestly don't know which is really the better choice.

I chose the Samsung as it has a Dual core processor, that and it recently won a challenge on the Gadget Show , If Jason Bradbury says it's good, that's good enough for me lol :T

It did make me wonder what comet are up to here.
I actually walked out of comet whilst waiting for an sa to come over when I realised the acer was all they had.

Likewise. Although I did hang around just long enough to listen to another customer "trying" to return a dodgy Acer and being given the "Are you doing this, that and the other correctly?" fob-off!

  • I haven't got my pin yet, just the award letter, but can't imagine it will be long.
I have decided to get the Toshiba from XMA as they supply a T-Mobile dongle & the coverage is supposed to be good in my area

I didn't need the pin number when i ordered mine from XMA. Ordered it on the thursday afternoon and received it the following day :j. You won't be disappointed with the laptop either, it's fab and the broadband is super fast x
  • Ordered mine early yesterday afternoon, hopefully then it'll be today or Monday when it gets here :D
  • Gosh! what a thread = 90% of content by those throwing their toys out of the pram, why don't such people cry on the BBC or Mail forums or elsewhere?

Back on track: It would be nice to know which deal/package people have chosen and why?

    Thanks in advance

Got my card & my pin today :j:j( bit dodgy arriving on the same day )
Just going to check out with XMA if I order today, when will it be with us as kids have activities planned Mon & Tues, as half term, so won't be in much.
Great timing though, as they will have half term to get used to it:D

edit; Have looked on the xma website & if ordered before 5pm on a weekday, it will be delivered the next day, so will order Tuesday & hopefully receive it Wednesday !!
Comping again - wins so far : 2 V festival tix, 2 NFL tix, 6 bottles of wine, personalised hand soap, Aussie miracle conditioner

90%??? Are we reading the same thread...?

I'm amazed how (mostly) civilised this thread has been tbh - believe me it could have been a lot worse and/or pulled by now.

Yes there has been some purely venting their spleen but they've been held off pretty well by people who just want to know more about the grant.

But to answer your question, I've already said I ordered the Samsung netbook from Misco but my reasons were: I have no T Mobile coverage in this area and I wanted MS Office.

The only other site that offers MS Office comes with T Mobile internet.

I may well have chosen a Toshiba but they only had the Samsung on there.

Having read the threads on here, it seems to me Misco deliver far quicker than some of the others - mine was next day.

ETA: just read last few posts and it seems XMA deliver next day too.

    Mine arrived together as well.

It is great timing - bet they will be over the moon!
