Just to mention:
It's only the CB letter if your child receives free school meals because you are on the eligible benefits.
If you live in one of the pilot areas that provide free school meals for all primary children, then you need to send in more information.0 -
it depends where you live. If you live in an area that are currently running the free school meals for all primary school children trial then you need to send in proof of one of the qualifying benefits. I had to send in both my CB letter and and income support letter.joannecawthra wrote: »Its just the Child Benefit Letter you need to send0 -
nah my area in birmingham isnt running the free school meals for all scheme so just the cb letter should do the trick then ,, cheers for all your help .0

I had to send the cb letter, child tax credit letter and income support letter,i dont live in a free school meals for all area either so i have no idea why it seems people in different areas are having to send in different letters of proof,it should tell you on the application form what proof you need to send anywayjoannecawthra wrote: »Its just the Child Benefit Letter you need to send

I just received my Child Benefit letter, only I didn't!! My address, my childs name and date of birth, but someone elses name, NI no and CHB no.
I phoned Child Benefit Centre and their sympathetic response is that I now go to the back of the queue to get another letter and they are taking six weeks. I did point out to the woman that it was unfair for me to wait again, and her response was that "there are people who need these letters more than you wanting a computer". Great to see the customer service training is up to scratch then!
I am so angry and upset. I just waited nearly four months to get my ESA and my MP had to give them a rocket in the end to resolve it. How dare this lady pass judgement on anyone's level of need, knowing zero about their personal circumstances?
If anyone here is a Mrs S E Bartram, ( I won't give full details of course) then I may have your letter if it helps you, so please pm me.
