I didnt ask, i just sent it i earned 17000 last year and cut off was about 16000 so i didnt apply then, when my new award came i just sent it and tried, my laptop comes thursday from comet and i only sent my application back to them on the 2nd june so didnt take long really, u have nothing to lose it worked for me just sent it and try.

Just to let you know, I have just applied (better late than never!!), but unfortunately the only applicants eligible must be disabled.
Still.......great scheme! Let's hope they do it again

This is horrible. I've been waiting for weeks for the second application to arrive, and today I called and they said the scheme is now closed and they can't check if the application was ever sent out. They said they'll give the address for the head office to call but I refused as its pointless.

This is really depressing, I was really relaying on picking one up for my son who had his hopes high for months. I only get a lowsy 10,000 a month and thats just about enough to keep the house going. Is there anyone that can help find something simmiler to this? Or any infomation if anything like this could show up in the following months? At least I could keep him busy telling him that they'll be another opening.

Nope, it only came back with a letter telling me to re-apply.

This is truely sad... Most people that applied never really needed it, yet applied just becuase they could. This killed of that chance for people that really needed the grant, that truely couldn't afford one. I wish I was earning 17 grand a year like some people.

i applied about 3 weeks ago and got a reply this morning telling me i have the full grant, so now i would like to know where is the best place on the list to buy from, do i get different software from different places,
my son who it is for is starting senior school in september and some of the software ive seen looks very young for him..

Hi all,

I've received my Card & PIN to the full value of £528.

I'm sure this has been asked before, but can someone PLEASE tell me whether its possible to use the money elsewhere to buy the PC/Laptop other than the recommended retailers who sell rather poor spec machines for extortionately inflated prices!!!

The card just seems like a normal credit card?
