And finally Franny! I have emailed the ebay lady with your response. I will let you know how I get on, I also emailed the lady with the China version and she has said I can go and have a look, and although it is based on the Alfred Angelo it isn't exactly the same although she hasn't seen the real one so cannot be sure what the difference is. I'm thinking it's got to be worth a look.
The one for £750 size 8 has already been sold apparently.

I'll update as soon as I hear!

    Hayley xx

Well the chinese one is very close to the AA one, as I didn't notice it wasn't 'the' dress until I looked closely, so worth a look at that price, but keeping everything crossed for the 'real' one for you. I think she will be silly not to let you have it, but my betting is that she will wait for the bidding to finish to see if some one will pay the £500, and when they don't will come back to you.
Good luck, and will be chuffed if it works out!

  • I'm going to give the chinese one a go as I'm not rich enough to turn down such a good price! And if it feels the same on then it doesn't really matter if there is a tiny difference, what's to say I would notice if I didn't hold them up togehter!!! (Probably like wetabix anyway, they make tesco's wheat biscuits!!!) Hope to update soon!!!
    Bump due 22nd September
  • Update - The shop have offered me the dress for £750 plus fixed alterations of £60.
The Chinese dress is a no go, I have seen the white and it is just too stark for me.
The ebay dress, she has offered £400 - might see if I can push it for £350.
    Decisions!!!
Just one question, how do you get a dress altered if you don't get it from a shop?
    Thanks! x

My local dress shop uses an 'outside' dress maker for alterations, so often you can get a name from them, Linda on here can advise of reasonable prices (as she did for me) Maybe offer the Ebay lady £375 explaining that you have pushed the budget as far as you can!

I can almost bet money on the fact she is waiting to see if someone bids at £500! ;)
