Please help.
I'm going to try wedding dress shopping tomorrow. I have no idea what to expect. I have no idea what sort of dress I want either. I've looked online but just keep thinking... yeah that ones alright.
Please could someone reassure me that I will come home in one piece with some clue what I want?
TIA

I went for the first time on Saturday, just go in with a clear mind, start looking through the rails and try it on, then the ladies in the shop will help you pick shapes and style to suit you, and then they'll go find more for you to try on!!
It's great fun!!
Enjoy it!! And remember... you don't have to buy tomorrow!!0 -
you will know 'THE'dress when u try it on hun..
i had an idea of what i wanted befor i went shopping and went for the total opposite lol
TIP:if u find 'the one'try and rem the name of the designer and shop on-line much cheaper
my dress was in the shop for over £700 and got it brand new of ebay for £199
good luck0 -
Thank you! Did they know just by looking at you what shape suited you and do they help you get the dresses on etc etc? And do they have veils and things for you to try with it?
Sorry so many questions - I'm scared!!!Bump due 22nd September0 -

1 Enjoy
2 Go with a open mind
My daughter 'knew' what dress she liked, she had seen the picture on the internet,
she also knew what she didn't want, strapless, with lace.
She tried on lots of dresses, and fell in love with the type of dress that she didn't want.
On the day she chose the dress, she put a deposit on it, and then came home and cried, wondering if she had made the right decission, i kept telling her that she had, but she wouldn't believe me.
I told her to forget the dress, and wait until it arrived.
Well today we went for the 1st dress fitting and it is lovely, infact there is much more detail on it, than when we 1st saw it.
it needs taking in quite a bit, and we want a bit of lace removing, but it is lovely.
So enjoy yourself, try some dresses on, that you may have dismissed in your head.
And when you do try the 'one' on you will know.0 -
Thank you! I hope it will be nice, I'm going on my own because as I don't know what to expect I just want to go and see. If I'm on my own I can run away much easier ;-)
I'll update tomorrow!Bump due 22nd September0 -

You'll love it!!
I had tiaras and veils on. Was made to feel very special.
You'll find certain things on certain dress that stands out and if you discuss it with them and the next thing you know they'll bring more dress for you to try on0 -
Dress shopping is fab. The only bad thing about mine was I found 'the' dress within the hour and didnt get to look anymore. (Unlike my friend who narrowed it down to 3 before taking the rest of us and still took 3 hours including two trips to the same shop!)
When I went for mine I had an idea as to what I wanted and had seen a dress I liked online but Mum hated it. The ladies in the shop made me pick one of each style (lacy, grecian, jordanesque etc) and I worked through these saying no. They then pulled out the dress I had seen online and one similar, tried it on and that was it. I'm going for my first fitting in the 'real' dress on Sat and am so excited. Not sure they'll get me out of it.:rotfl:
Good luck with your shopping I'm excited for you :j0 -
Thank you so much everyone, I'm really excited about it now! Can't wait til tomorrow lol.
While I'm here, I have been looking at bridesmaid dresses online thinking I'm going to get them from www.myweddingdressforless.co.uk Is that a good site?
My flowers are iris's and some others that are similar colours so I've been trying to pick colours for the dresses. (Both BMs are totally different shapes so I thought so long as they are the same fabric they can choose their own styles.)
Anyway. To match iris's http://www.flowersatyourdoor.com/web/components/com_virtuemart/shop_image/product/Blue_Iris_48cee28d47af1.jpg with colours I am thinking colour numbers... http://www.myweddingdressforless.co.uk/popup_image.php?pID=296&image=0 2, 36, 53, 86 or 92. I don't want to go to purpley as H2B sister had a lilac and purple wedding last year and don't want to "copy"
