You really should pick your dress first, then choose bridesmaids dresses that compliment yours. I thought i was definitely going to have an ivory dress but mine is actually a champagne colour and some colours wont go very well cos i need something thats 'warm'. Hope that makes sense. The style of my BM dresses also compliments my dress perfectly.
Dont worry about shopping for your dress. Some shops work differently to others. The first one i went in let me choose as many dresses as i wanted to try on. And the one im buying my dress from, looked at my shape and asked me questions about what sort of thing i like, if any, and then picked dresses for me to try. This is the shop im buying from and the first dress she showed me was my perfect dress!!!What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -
Ok thank you, I'll post tomorrow - provided they haven't eaten me or anything!
Excited!!! xxBump due 22nd September0 -
I think 36 looks the closest colour. Also try http://www.landybridal.com/index.html for wedding dresses/bridesmaids dresses. I've got to look at dresses soon, but I'm pregnant so I won't be able to for atleast a year
Good luck with the dresses.
What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0 -
The only thing I would mention is that you may need an appointment for a lot of places so best to ring ahead. Don't let anyone talk you into anything as it's such an expensive decision; even if you are 100% certain go home, mull over it, see if you can perhaps find it cheaper on the internet before you hand cash over! Do nothing there and then!0

Oh.....no one seems to have mentioned this bit......where nice undies, I would suggest shorts rather than something like a thong too lol
the ladies in the shop will help you in and out of dresses and if you are like me you will want to be wearing nice undies when other people see you in them
i suggest you try lots on, try things you like and things you wouldnt normally bother with cus you really do never know what you will fall in love with once its on
oh and most importantly have funMarried on 5th March 2010still lurking on the wedding board tho :rotfl:0 -
Thank you, I'm going at 1pm today, going to have a look in the florists and find out what the other flowers are called (I'm useless I know!)
Have got myself a white mutliway bra from tesco (£4 if anyone interested), for the purpose of trying (will probably have to get something different for the day but wanted to be able to look without straps etc etc. And will definately be wearing white shorts... If there is any chance of someone glimsing at my bottom then it goes not need to be in a thong!!!
I will have a look at Landy too thanks, is there a way to get it in English prices?Bump due 22nd September0 -

I think she clocked straight away I wasn't about to spend £2k on a dress when she saw my holey underwear! I hadn't noticed - until I was standing semi-naked in front of a huge mirror.0

I didn't have nice undies on either! I'd only popped into a little local bridal shop to start getting idea on what I liked, and somehow walked out an hour later with my dress over my arm!! I blame the lovely SA who treated me like royalty and didn't bat a eyelid when I pointed out I would only look at the sale dresses and then 'phoned the owner to get me another £200 off the already heavily reduced price!:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0
