Frannyann thank you so much, I will send the one with the high price a message and see if she will reduce it!
And I asked the ones I spoke to if they had a display version but 2 places had, one was a size 18 and would loose the shape if it was brought in that much, the other one they wouldn't sell for a long while because it is still a current dress.
I'm so excited typing this bit that my hands are shaking!!! I have been back to the bridal shop and tried it on. (The one that I went to before happen to stock this too). I love it. It will be my dress by hook or by crook! I absolutely love it! Hurrah I have picked my dress, I just have to find it at a price I like now! (My original budget was £300 and I never thought I would spend more on "Just a dress that you only wear once!" Oh well you can't put a price on love hehe).Bump due 22nd September0 -

To be honest the Ebay one is priced far too high and think its a 'chancing' price to see if she gets any bites, go for an intial low offer BIN of £200 to test the water, that is more than many go for on there!

Ring round local dressmakers and see if they'll make it up for you. Both my sisters had their wedding dresses - both from designer ranges, I think one was a Maggie Sottero and can't remember what the other one was (think it begins with R) - made by my dad's cousin, who literally went in the shop, looked at the dresses and made them herself. It'll probably be much cheaper than buying it - both my sisters' dresses were in the £2K region and came in at much much cheaper."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0

I think I may cry!
What's your maximum? You can try haggling. My dress was £1,250 in the shop. I went away and phoned round other local stockists and actually they were the cheapest. I went back and got them down to £1,000, so 20% off...0 -
Well I have spoken to H2B and he seems to think if I spent £850 on a dress I feel so amazing in then it's worth it. He had budgetted £500 for the dress (Ihad budgetted £300) But then we are saving about £400 from the rings and £200 on what we thought the suits would cost so really in the grand scheme of our wedding budget we're still doing ok. But £850 is loads for a dress!
I have asked the shop to let me know what their very best price is. I am seriously contemplating getting a Landy version, I'd be the only person who would know it was the "real" thing and so long as it looked same I'd probably feel pretty chuffed that I had saved a load of money. (If I got if for 145 euro then I would have saved about £150 on the dress budget, £250 on suits and £400 on rings which is £700 overall which is amazing as we thought we had pulled the budget in as much as we could! (On the flip side if the landy one comes and is awful I stick it on ebay (as an unamed dress I wouldn't be horrible enough to sell it as an Alfred Angelo!) then I have still got some money left in the pot for something else!!!Bump due 22nd September0 -
Sounds like a good idea. I had a similar dillema and decided to walk away, and buy a car instead. When you look at it like that, landy and milly seem to be the way to go!0
