found another size 8, brand new but £750 maybe worth an ask if they would accept lower price?:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0 -
Oh my god!!! Franny you are a star!!!
"This is a brand new Satin dress with semi-cathedral train from china, it is excellently made and only worn to try on as wedding was cancelled. It is the same design as alfred angelo 1136 it just doesnt have a label"
What should I do though, it is from China and a copy and I could probably get it from China cheaper myself! However this way I could try it on before I committed to getting a copy. It would be a 4 hour round trip either way. Any suggestions?
I feel sick with nerves now!!!Bump due 22nd September0 -

Go try it on, you will be able to see and feel it and then you can decide whether you feel its a 'good' copy. If its good, you will be able to have your dress there and then without the worry of it being sent. Plus loads of budget left for shoes:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0 -
Haha Franny you are awesome!
I have got my shoes already!!! Plenty of budget for honeymoon and wine!!!
You are wonderful. I really can't thank you enough for helping me.
By the way - the £500 ebay dress seller came back to me..
Hi Hayley,
I wouldn't want to go much lower than this price, because its brand new and is such a beautiful dress, but how much were you thinking of?
Thanks,
Jenny
What do you reckon (not putting all my eggs in one basket just yet!)Bump due 22nd September0 -

I would answer like this (this is how I got my dress down to £300 from £500) and bear in mind she will see dresses don't go for much more than £250-£300
Hi Jenny
Thank you so much for a quick response. My budget was actually much lower at £250, but I could possibly go to £350 at a push?
Hayley
Hows that seem? I honestly won't go higher than £350, yes its 'your' dress but they are others about, its just knowing where to find it, and thats where we come in useful
ETA, Its NOT brand new and this girl needs to get that out of her head, she may NOT have worn it but to the buyers on Ebay it IS second hand:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0 -
This thread has got me v excited about going dress shopping now lol! So exciting!0

This is over your budget but isn't brand new so you could try haggling?
Alfred Angelo has a competition on their site to win one of their dresses, not sure what the T&C's are though, I coldn't find them.0 -
Just to add, that other AA dress went for £155 on ebay, may be worth putting the link to that in your message to her (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Alfred-Angelo-wedding-dress-style-1476_W0QQitemZ200422840901QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Wedding_Clothing?hash=item2eaa21da45) explaining thats why you will 'stretch' to £350 for her 'new' one
PS, keep us updated, I am nearly as excited as you now LOL:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0 -
Hello Everyone, sorry for the silence!!!
Toothfairy, glad you are excited! Enjoy it!
Lexxi, I will bear that in mind thank you. Although I think she has the "long" version and as I am only 5ft I don't know if it would be out of preportion if I were to have it altered so drastically!
And finally Franny! I have emailed the ebay lady with your response. I will let you know how I get on, I also emailed the lady with the China version and she has said I can go and have a look, and although it is based on the Alfred Angelo it isn't exactly the same although she hasn't seen the real one so cannot be sure what the difference is. I'm thinking it's got to be worth a look.
The one for £750 size 8 has already been sold apparently.
I feel sorry for you if you are as nervous as me!!! I just want to get this sorted now so I can stop banishing H2B from sitting next to me while I search and look at all your finds!!!
I'll update as soon as I hear!
Hayley xxBump due 22nd September0
