Primus do broaband as well ,if you look on the internet bord ,there are threads for both primus and talk talk
The thread on Primus broadband is here and the threads on TalkTalk are here, here, and a long-running thread on TalkTalk here.

Alternatively, if you are a Sky customer, then Sky are also doing free and really cheap broadband but they do have download limits though - see here or Sky's website here.
  • Heinz -The bill for £4.65 related to evening calls to mobiles - any tips on re-routing these to save me even more money?

Have had my second bill - am still saving so much more than with BT so will wait for the next couple of bills to see if the £15 rebate comes off. I haven't e-mailed Primus but did call their customer service and the girl there was so helpful.

If I remember correctly, Primus did a bolt-on type thing as discussed here.

Alternatively, if Primus don't do this bolt-on anymore then check MSE Martin's UK Call Checker here, it gives a list of cheaper alternatives.

Although there are 2 dial-through operators listed as charging 4ppm, I would recommend using Call18185.co.uk who charge 5ppm but have a connection charge of 4p. Call18185.co.uk only charge 2ppm during the weekends but again with a connection charge of 4p.

I'm not certain how much Primus charge for calls to mobiles during the evening so check with Primus how much they charge as it may not be much difference when taking into consideration the 4p connection charge that Call18185.co.uk charge. It also depends on the average length of these calls to mobiles.

I would first enquire about this mobile bolt-on type thing first before considering using another supplier like Call18185.co.uk.

I thought Martin originally said that the £15 would be added automatically even if no chargable calls were made via Primus and that the credit would be good for the forseeable future.

I have only had one bill from Primus so far as I only made 2 chargable calls in May (seems that they do not send out a bill if you have only been using the service for the free weekend calls).

Does that mean that I will have to make some more chargable calls via Primus to find out if they have credited my account with the first £15?
  • just got my £15 rebate at the end of 3 months, ie on my 4th bill.... and i didn't even have to ask for it, unlike Barclays

so now am in credit by £12.86, which alone should last me til 2020, so what will i do with the next load of rebates teehee. i'll have to use it to dial all my other numbers with instead of using prefixes - for a while at least, more money saved

my biggest monthly bill so far from primus has been 95p :j

    thanks Martin :T

Rang them yesterday, and my problem seems to be because I have not yet generated enough bills . ie no chargable calls since May. I was told that just one call a month would be sufficient.

Well we've been with Primus 4 months now.

Last month (3rd month) I rang them querying the £15 rebate and was told it would be added and show up on our 4th month.

Well just rung them now because it didn't show up on the 4th month as originally told and the guy I spoke with apologised and said he would credit it now.

I forgot to ask him if it would show up on our account yet or would I have to wait another month to see it so what I'll do is wait until end of week and check our online bill and see if there is any credit showing and if not, ring them and ask them to check their systems to see if it has been credited as promised.

It could well be that it may not show on our online bill until next bill is issued but c/s can check in the interim.

Well we haven't made any chargable calls with Primus - only the inclusive geographical calls as all other calls we make NGN are via BT so we can enjoy free CLI. Thankfully, we only make one or two (if that) NGN calls anyhow.

This could be because we are on their option 3 (all-inclusive) plan at £3.49 (after rebate) per month and not their option 2 (evening & weekend) plan. This, is of course, just guessing though.

I went for Option 1 (don't make many, if hardly any calls after 6pm). And still need to keep BT happy with one or two calls for free CLI.;)
  • I'm on bill no 6 and still haven't received my first £15 !

I've been abit busy recently so haven't chased them up but did so today and was told that I should get it credited as well as the 2nd £15 next month.

Oh well better late than never!
