Primus £15 quarterly rebate for signing up via Uswitch

Canny_mal wrote:Has anyone who signed up to Primus Freetalk Plus 1 or 2 via Uswitch when they first started offering a quarterly £15 rebate actually had their first rebate yet? I went live on 26th March and I've just viewed my 3rd monthly invoice (dated 27th June) but there's no sign of the £15 credit having been applied to my account.
Has anyone got theirs?
I switched a month ago, so I'll have to wait a while. But I thought that the rebate was going to come direct from Uswitch, and would be paid direct into your bank. Has anyone checked their bank statements for an unidentified £15 credit?

No Robin, the £15 per quarter rebate is paid, by means of a credit to your bill, by Primus, not Uswitch (Uswitch get their commission when their link to Primus is clicked as punters start the signing up process).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

Is this offer still available or has it now finished??0

I signed up for Primus in May and started using their service on 1 June. First months bill £4.65 - that's cheap - yipee:j
Great tip on MSE as most of my calls are to landlines at the weekend or after 6pm.0 -

At least you guys managed to switch. I signed up on 19th May to get the quidco cashback and although got a confirming email from uswitch never heard a thing from Primus.
Just wondered what might happen if I switch again?0 -
Just to report that my first £15 rebate was added to my 4th Primus monthly bill. I must admit I was a bit wary about this company when I first signed up but I have had no problems and the quarterly rebate is basically meaning I'm getting 12 months worth of free calls !!0

I am a newbie and was just going to talk about Primus. I have been one of their customers for quite some time but we are low users of the telephone so our monthly bills are only between £3 - £6 which means these packages for broadband, such as Carphone Warehouse, would not be a great saving to me except that I'd get rid of the BT rental charge. I was very interested to hear about the cheaper 0845 numbers etc. Can see that although I have always considered myself a great money saver I have a lot to learn here.0

Are you using 1899 (3p per call, regardless of duration) for you weekday 01/02 calls and 18185 for your calls to mobiles?
The Talk Talk 'free' broadband offer will just mean you pay line rental to them instead of BT and, as you can see from other posts in this forum, the chances of that being hassle-free are, at best, 50-50.
Certainly, you won't be able to use Primus if you do so because you have to pay line rental to BT to be able to use a CPS provider.
Although using BT (prefix calls with 1280 if you use a CPS) is usually best for 084/087 calls, checking your options on the MSE UK Callchecker is always worthwhile (e.g. 18185 is the current winner for [peak] weekday prices to 0870 numbers).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market.
