What is it with OR/penpushers?? Do they have Napoleon syndrome??
Never on this part of the fourm just looking for information on BR in scotland and if the payment into bankrupsy to the AiB are appealiable if that is the correct word.
Curly write the letter with no emotion. Be direct and to the point. You need XXX amount of allowance for fuel for you to be able to work shop and attend your regular medical appointments. You cannot get public transport due to your medical condition so you may soon be forced to either not attend essential medical appointments or not go to work. Vicious circle.
BTW my 1.8 petrol does 28MPG if I am lucky. If driving in rush hour with lots of congestion and stop start type actions then 25ish is closer the mark.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -

Aiming for the "every cloud has a silver lining" approach on this one...
It's possible (as some have said) that the OR is taking the same 'ultra-pragmatic' view as one of the posts on this thread.
If so, then the challenges made to that post will give very useful points to make in your letter of complaint. I have no idea about mpg etc. But, I can see that it makes complete sense that you will have a lower mpg if you drive in certain surroundings compared to the mpg you'd get in other areas. (I'm confusing myself now).
My point is that, even though some posts might be upsetting, they can trigger some very useful information from others on here :T.
That said, I think that the key point in your complaint is that you were told that you had to sign the form, or your OR would do it himself. That means you were seriously misled (that's the polite way of putting it!).0 -

hiya LilacP
I spotted this in my trawl of 'posts which tell me things about MPG which I never knew'
You might want to start your own thread, to make sure we've got hold of the right end of the stick. However, you can appeal the level of payments/contributions set in a Scottish bankruptcy.
I hope you feel able to tell us bit more about your situation on your own thread, so that we try to help/advise you a bit more.0 -
It should also be remembered that even with an IPA in place, you do not necessarily have to just blindly pay what the OR decides is reasonable.
If necessary, the bankrupt can apply to the court to have the IPA/O amount "varied" if the OR does not give their own consent.
http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/freedomofinformation/technical/TechnicalManual/Ch25-36/Chapter31/part7/part5/part_5.htmHowever, in the event that one of the parties to the agreement wishes to vary it but the other party does not consent to the variation, application may be made to court for the IPA to be varied. Such an application may be made by the bankrupt, trustee or official receiver.
(As an aside, I think the same applies in Scotland)
OK. May be a severe measure to have to take, but I doubt the OR would want to have to justify in court why they were not allowing someone disabled to have reasonable transport expenses. Wouldn't look good in the local/regional rag either.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Culry, the way the OR has been with you is awful and makes me slightly embarrassed that my vehicle was exempt from my BR. I was determined to be totally honest in my interview. When asked why I need the car I said work, I have to be in the office but soemtimes have to go to the warehouse and I am also on 24/7 call out should our alarms go off (this has happened twice last year). I also said that twice a week I need to get home at lunch to take the dog out, it would cost £20 per week to get someone to do this for me. My fuel consumption is £120 per month, which includes all my driving. The OR was happy with this and the following day I had the letter saying the car was exempt.
As for Mondeo Man, is he Alan Partridge in disguise, ignore him, I don't understand why he took the time to scrutinse your driving, if I've missed something I haven't seen that he has posted anything to explain himself.
Good luck with getting every reversed and your OR getting the rollicking he deserves.0
