I would definitely complain too. Tell them that you absolutely wouldn't have signed it if you knew that there was any choice and therefore you only signed it due to being ill advised and under pressure by the OR.

I cannot see how your travel costs are in any way excessive. Thats how much fuel & bus travel costs & if you cannot do it any cheaper surely they have to use discretion to allow it?!?

Stressful I'm sure but fight it... it should be worth it in the end. Good luck.

    Curly I agree with Kutie.

Why didn't you post on here and chat to us about this? This is meant to be an AGREEMENT if you don't agree then you don't have to. He would have to take you to court and justify himself to a judge and get an IPO, which I doubt he would want to do. I am guessing he is saying that your visiting mum is not an essential journey.

Put together a letter and get one of regulars like blind-as-a-bat to look at it and check it for you.

I've turned the heating back on - still got my jumper on but I will loss the duvet

    stuff the IPA

Guys how this all came about what my OH was paid £300.00 less last month after being in hospital and I asked OR what about my IPA of £71.00 I've not got it and he e-mailed me and told me to wait for moon beaver

So I phoned them and they said they can't do anything about it, so phoned OR - or paper pusher who ever this guy is, and he just said that he won't look at until moon beaver contacted me and set something up, no money for gas no money for food and I flipped and he told me I had enought, and then he told me about how much he allowed for our travel allowance, and the fact of holidays so I wouldn't have been using the car. I complained to him but he just said send receipts and he was busy so if that was it bye.......

To all those people complaining about how hard done by the OP is, have they actually done the maths? She's not doing 300 miles a week commuting....

£40 a weekyou claim you use in petrol does seem extremely excessive
Work - 11 miles each way, 5 days a week is 110 miles a week.
Parents - 7 miles each way, 4 times a week is 56 miles a week.
Trip to the shop every day -1 mile - 7 miles a week

So adding on other bits and bobs, 180 miles per week. And that costs you £40 in petrol? Even if you did 200 miles per week tops you'd have a car that only got 25MPG. So what you're saying is your car does only 21MPG doing the above? And you wonder why the OR doesn't quite believe you?

Knocking off your husbands travel from the £150 leaves £90 a month to do 180 miles per week. That is the right figure at the current petrol prices for a car that'll return an average of 40MPG which most normal hatchbacks and sub 2 litre ones do.

I fail to see where the issue is. I think claiming it cost you £40 a week in petrol to do 180 miles was quite frankly taking the mick. With my Ford Mondeo, if it cost me £40 a week to do 180 miles, it'd be in the garage to find out why it was walloping through so much fuel.

    Mr judgemental, strikes again.:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T

I have a nice people carrier. Okay. Its an old thing thats not so nice.

The fuel consumption is horrific. But still cheaper than 1 x adult and 3 x kids bus passes for a month and additional taxis. And £40 a week in fuel for 180 miles would be a miracle.

But hey. As a BR, what do I know eh?
