Just remember, if it wasn't for a teacher somewhere, most folk wouldn't be able to post on this board. Think on....
And if it wasn't for sewage workers you'd be living in a pile of S***
In fact if it wasn't for the armed forces in the 40s you'd be living in a pile of German S***
And so on......0 -

I for one, would love to be at work today!!! I have A level students with an exam in 7 weeks and I need to cover the subject and now I'm down a week as I only see them once a week!!
It is a total pain in the ar$€ to be honest as we were all sent home at lunch yesterday so now I have to muck around changing lesson plans and Schemes of Work allowing for the missed time - I'd rather be there doing my job than faffing around next week, scrabbling to catch up - NOT skiving!Noli nothis permittere te terere

The nursery I use for my other children, well I am presuming that is closed too as the phone keeps going to voicemail and I think they are taking advantage, all the staff there live very local and within walking distance some of them!!!!
Now I can understand schools closing - but a Nursery? Now I am annoyed at that. If I can go and do my job, so can they. !!!!!
Have just heard that my sons is closed too. Not annoyed that its closed but blimmin p'd off they are still charging me for the privelidge!!!!Good Enough Club member number 27(2) AND I got me a stalkee!

Couldn't agree more: I'm a teacher and already bored from being at home rather than doing a job I thoroughly enjoy.
If this is skiving, then you are welcome to it.0 -
Apart from the Insult that Fat Andy threw at the Teachers, which was below the belt, why does nobody see where he's coming from on this? As far as I see it the majority of kids, teachers and ancillary staff actually got to the building and were ready for a normal day only to be turned away because of a short stretch of icy pavement?
Yes the insult was out of order but I do agree the decision was a little senseless don't you think?0 -

Well my rant is over because it suddenly occurred to me... that if all the kids schools are shut.. then the Nursery staff will have problems too:cool:0
