Managed to go out for a jog this morning even though I totally couldn't be a****! My left calf is pretty sore
Was checking MapMyRun and I'm pleased to see that I've managed to cover almost 23km in March on top of my normal commute, have lost 3lbs and have gone from being obese to merely overweight
Planning 6.5km walks on Monday and Tuesday lunchtime, will probably take a few rest days after that.0 -
I had considered getting the kids running with me, in fact for the last couple of weeks I've been trying to decide whether to get a baby jogger pushchair as DD2 is 3 so walks most places so I might be able to ditch the tandem pushchair at last. DD3 is 15 months DS is 5 & DD1 is 10 so with littlest in the pushchair the others should be able to do some running.Back on the money saving wagon again!0

Ive decided that going to a gym and paying £40 a month is def not for me . ( I'm not anti them , just not how I want to spend my time exercising) . I have converted a bedroom to an exercise gym , using the wii active and have discovered a great way to do resistance training without the use of heavy bulky equipment . I bought some resistance bands and used youtube for exercise ideas . They are brilliant and cost less than £10 , you can even pack them in your suitcase and take them on holiday . I am also using a cheap exercise ball. Rather than doing a gym session at a local gym , i'm going to try and incorporate exercise as part of my daily routine . I have been doing dog walking twice a day for 30 mins , 30 mins on wii , then when i pick the kids up from school I park the car 10 mins away and walk the rest of the way , that way I get another half an hour of walking a day. By keeping up the variety of activities I hope to keep it interesting , instead of an hour in the gym looking at 4 walls and listening to music ( how boring!!) . I have also discovered a piece of equipment that turns a normal bike into an indoor exercise bike for when its raining. I have also found out about "green gyms" which are local conservation groups that do exercise and conservation work to keep fit ( all free might I add) . There is one in my area so will be looking into that .
So save yourself £40 a month or so ( if you like these ideas) and go on a nice holiday instead . I used to belong to a gym a few years ago but was locked into a contract . Unfortunately I became ill and only actually went 4-5 times , I worked out that each session cost me a small fortune.0 -
hi ya... i started doing some exercise.. last week i lost 6lb.. so i am good and determined to keep it up till April... i am aiming for another 6lb this wk.. i know i am ambitious.. but i am just trying to eat healthy and exercise at least for 30m from mon to fri.
I do my exercise on youtube.. as i can not bring myself paying ££ to go to the gym... i enjoy walking too and now that the weather is nice, there is no excuse !Mejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0 -

Do tell pm please
They are called turbo trainers , they range from the basic type to more expensive ones where you can rig them up to a p.c and run a computer simulation of you cycling in various places . A bit like a cycling version of wii fit except you use your bike rather than the wii controls0 -
Some good ideas there Candlesrus might look at the Youtube videos and I still have my birth ball which I could re-inflate and use as a gym ball. Really was intending to exercise yesterday but had to go to supermarket early evening which meant kids were fed late, therefore, bathed late, therefore put to bed late so by the time I'd finished everything it was after 11pm
I really need to be more organised. I'll have to try to do stuff in the day more instead of planning to exercise of an evening as something always comes up.
