Okay - have managed my first week of 3 sessions - gym on mon night and thurs morning and wii personal trainer on wed morn. Will hopefully fit in a little walk over the weekend but hubby working so might just be another wii session.
thanks for this thread - it was a real incentive this week to make sure i did at least three sessions.0 -
Can I join you all please? I was doing ok-ish, I bought the Hannah Waterman DVD and did it a few times for a couple of weeks. Then I got a cold so didn't feel up to exercising, combine this with a week of baking and by the end of it I'd put 3lb on
I'm still trying to get in shape after baby number 4 and she's 15 months old so there's no excuse. I used to be fairly fit and walked everywhere but now I've moved out of town a bit to where I was and although I like to walk, dragging 4 kids in tow does make going everywhere on foot fairly time consuming so we end up opting for the car. I also used to ride my bike a fair bit up until just before baby number 4 was born but don't seem to get the opportunity anymore (whinge whinge moan moan lol)
As of tomorrow I want to start making time to do at least the DVD again even If I don't manage anything else. I have Wii Fit but find it quite time consuming for how much benefit it gives. By the time I've set up the Wii, done the body test then listened to the boring virtual trainers at the start of each exercise I'm fed up already. I think it would be better if you could just choose say 10 exercises as favourites then be able to play them one after the other without all that loading screen, score tables and all the fit piggy nonsenseBack on the money saving wagon again!0 -
well didnt manage to get to the gym yesterday but managed a tae bo dvd today so that makes it 3/3 this week. however went shopping and had a cadburys creme egg which am sure just undid all my hard work. Might try and fit another dvd over the weekend to make up for it!
Also been looking into interval training but not sure am fit enough yet out of interest does anyone whos not superfit do this?0 -
The Hannah Waterman DVD is interval training I think and that was pretty hard going the first couple of times. I still find it pretty strenuous but do-able. (or maybe not as I haven't actually been doing it lately lol) But it is supposed to get great result.Back on the money saving wagon again!0

I failed guys. I didn't exercise more than I would normally once. What I mean by that is that I have a 20 minute walk from the station to work and back so 40 mins in total, but apart from that, nadda. I visited a gym to see what it was like, it had loads of stairs does that count?? :rotfl:
In my defence it has been a crazy week, I've worked about an hour a day extra every day, and my commute is 3.20 a day on top of that. But I will try harder. Tonight I am planning on doing Davina McCall's dvd so kick start me off. I am also thinking about doing some weeding in the garden this afternoon, as it's sunny here!I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

Seeing as you helped me out by suggesting this thread, I'll try to return the favour by suggesting www.mapmyrun.com as a really useful resource for walkers/joggers looking to track their exercise and find out how long their routes are etc.
Once you find your route/s, you can save them on the site and add them to your exercise diary with just a few clicks, which simplifies the whole process. All you need to know is how many circuits you've walked/jogged of the route and how long it took you. You then get a useful running total of distance covered/calories burned etc.
I hope it's ok to mention the site here - it's free to use and I don't have any association with it.
Cheers Ed!
I must admit, I've been rubbish this week.I'm going back to the beginning of this thread to re-find my motivation.

Thanks for the welcome Skaps. I managed to do best part of the DVD last night but couldn't face the boxing section. I'm thinking of getting the Davina Superbody DVD, anyone know if its any good? I'd much rather go to a gym or go jogging but I became single last year so if I want to leave the house to exercise it means having to organise childcare so it just makes it easier to do something in the house. Might give the Wii fit another go tonight for a change. Keep up the good work everyoneBack on the money saving wagon again!0

Or you could get the children to jog with you? Or if they are able to ride bikes you could do this together?MFW 2016 No 68 £1300/£8500 No new toiletries Cook sth different0
