Trying to find out if the ghd straighteners are fake and I need to know where I find the batch number please?

You don't need a batch number to register, just the code from the label attached to the wire (not the one inside the straightener). I've just registered mine and left the batch number part blank and had no problems

Can the straighteners have the same serial numbers? Got 2 of the pretty in pink ones and they have the same number.

I have just registered them and it seems to have gone through no problem.
Though the box is missing the dvd and instruction manual so not sure whether they are fake or not?

Just treated myself to the Precious gift set - bought it from beautyflash as it seemed to be the cheapest out there atm. Got a free Dermalogica lip balm aswell and some free samples too.

I'll let you know how I get on with delivery etc.

After chewing this over for MONTHS I think I am now ready to take the plunge. I have looked at loads of sites, and have decided I want the Pretty In Pink giftset. The best deals I can see are:

ghds.co.uk gift set plus delivery thermal protector and heat mat for £155
    or
girlznight.co.uk gift set plus thermal protector and delivery for £140
or The Funky Group gift set plus heat mat and delivery for £136.

Can anyone suggest any better deals? I can't see any of these three websites on quidco, and cant find any codes for any of them. Very grateful for any advice!

I haven't read all this thread , sorry.

Verrucasalt, I got my daughter the pretty in pink giftset from ghdhair.com. I got the before christmas and i think i paid £135 inc next day delivary. (no thermal protector or heat mat though , but they often have special offers on.

What I would ike to say is this ; my daughter used to go through loads of different types of straighteners and it cost me a fortune , there was always some problem. I was buying new ones every 3 - 4 months. Three years or so ago our hairdresser started selling ghds and i took the plunge and bought some. I never looked back , all the old ones went on freegle and she loved her ghds , used at least daily with no problems. I have only got her the new ones as we rehomed a dog that decided to chew the cable !

Yes do your research, if its too good to be true then its a fake.

Thanks for your comments. I have read too many horror stories to think that I can get them cheap! I will only buy from a site listed on the official site, that I can verify.

I have a slight problem with my conscience because I have a perfectly good pair of straighteners already. I think they are some of the babyliss pro230 ones (can't be bothered to go upstairs and look!) that do a very nice job. So I cant really be sure that if I splash out my Christmas money the GHDs will be much better.

But until I buy some, I will never know, so its time to take the plunge!!
