I'm tempted to buy some GHD's from eBay, but wondering as there isn't a 'shop' receipt, if the warranty is still honoured?

I'd ask GHD directly if I were you, give them a call/email and see what they say but personally I'd not risk it on ebay, you never know for sure what your getting- especially with some others reporting having been sent their new GHDs from genuine places like Amazon and having seen someone had peeled the authenticity code off:eek: Be very careful!

Thanks for this! Think I'll pay the extra £20 for peace of mind - will have a 2 yr warranty then! :D

Anyone know whats going on with the wide ghd straighteners?
They seem to be out of stock everywhere and were going cheap on amazon a couple of weeks ago.
Are they bringing out a new version or just have no stock?

They look fab, and I'm really impressed with the new styler - they heat up so much quicker then my old GHDs, I like the fact they beep when they're ready to use and the sleep function is great (the amount of times I've walked off and forgotten I've left them on :o lol). They are also easier to use than my old ones - I've now noticed the spring in my old GHDs was going in comparison.

Are they worth £130-£160... No, I don't think they're worth the extra expense in comparison to the standard styler. The travel hairdryer is ok as travel hairdryers go, at least the handle folds down to compact it further which is a nice touch. The bag is very glam but also very big - great for use at home as it's heat resistant, but not for travelling. Luckily the two inner bags that store the styler and hairdryer can be removed and they are compact enough for travelling and the hairdryer bag has enough spare room for a brush and a few hair accessories. Also I think the glitter bits which are already coming off will annoy me in a few weeks when I'm finding them everywhere for the umpteenth time.

Saying that... I will be keeping them  - they were a treat to myself for becoming debt-free, so I'll be glamourously reminded of this everytime I use them... Just call it my DFW 'southernscouser car mats moment'!!!

I got my ghd from hqhair a couple of years ago and they were a good company to deal with, the have a 10% off code at the moe too. Although they dont have stock at the moe it may be worth a look.
Play nice  Just because I am paranoid doesn't mean they are not out to get me.:j

    Hey all

I've just sent my straighteners away today, because I felt that they weren't heating up properly, so I have returned them to GHD.

Does anyone have any experience of returning to GHD? I only purchased on 29th Nov, so will they replace?

Also, I wrapped straighteners in bubble wrap and put in a postal bag, and then came back in the house and found the box (duh!) - do you think this will be ok for GHD?

Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.

I have not returned anything to GHD (as I don't own a pair I just "borrow" from my mum!) but have heard others returned things and if they are within warrenty they are fixed, I'd imagine if they were broken and couldn't be fixed they'd replace?
Have heard that if they are not in warrenty and cannot be fixed they offer you a replacement at a cheaper cost, if they are fixable outside warrenty they can fix at a cost? (unsure about that last one) but there apparently is a service person on ebay who fixes for around £20.

Thanks, it's just that I got them so little time ago and they just don't seem to be heating up as much as I am used to with GHD's. I have very fine hair and I find myself having to go over and over the same bit to get it straight which I shouldn't really need to do with GHD's at all!

Hopefully will get them back soon so will let you all know :D

  • I want to get a pair of the precious GHD's, does anyone know the cheapest place to get them from?
