The best deals I can see are:

ghds.co.uk gift set plus delivery thermal protector and heat mat for £155
    or
girlznight.co.uk gift set plus thermal protector and delivery for £140
or The Funky Group gift set plus heat mat and delivery for £136.

    Very grateful for any advice!

Make sure you read my previous posts about girlznight.co.uk before you purchase from them! :money:
  • Have been using some cheaper straighteners for a while but just got my GHDs back and can't say how :j:j:j I am. Just no comparison.

Local hairdressers are offering them for sale at £99 so must be some decent discounts around somewhere.

As the advert says, ladies,...... (yes realise it's a different one but still) YOU'RE WORTH IT!!

    Hi all

Just wanted to ask a quick question for those who have the GHD IV straightener - do you find that these heat up as much as previous versions have?

My friend has the ones before these, and when I use hers, it burns my hand if I touch my hair after pulling through the straightener, but with my new ones it seems to take much longer to straighten, even though they are new straighteners.

I got mines from ASOS and they are being particularly unhelpful in the matter of returning/replacing the straighteners - any ideas folks?>

    Thanks

Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.
  • I have just bought the Salon Styler IV and I slightly burnt my finger on my hair after running it through the straighteners so I would say they are hot.

I think they are definitely hotter than my previous GHD's

Thanks, although it's probably not a great thing for your hair, I can't help but thinking that if they aren't that hot right now, they are just going to downhill.

As I said, ASOS have been worse than useless, have tried emailing GHD direct to see what they say.

I get by by using my mum's GHDs when I visit her some times. I've never had a problem with my hair being too hot to touch and this is with both her MK1 pair and her new MK4 pair. I'd question if there was some falt on those maybe? just would worry me as it would stand to reason that your hair would become damaged far faster as a result (its the heat that damages)

My mum's pair straighten my hair first time I pull them through my hair. But I do have quite a lot of hair and know to get a decent result I have to do a little at a time or it just wont straighten. I just make sure I use clips and never to the same chunk of hair more then twice.

    Thanks for advice.

I just didn't want you to go through what I did. Others reported similar experiences after I placed my order so I wasn't the only one with that experience. Hope you get yours promptly though, good luck!

Finally just ordered mine, after literally months of deliberating!

Went for the Pretty in Pink set, from Exclusive Brands. 8% through quidco. They ghave also told me that they will send me the free thermal protector and heatmat advertised on their home page.

Expecting them tomorrow, and can't wait!!

Edit-they have tracked already on quidco-hurrah!

  • I'm tempted to buy some GHD's from eBay, but wondering as there isn't a 'shop' receipt, if the warranty is still honoured?
