Options
Beauty Bay are currently offering their GHD IV Styler & Free Thermal Protector for £94.99 which is a good price.

I have posted a discount code on the discount board that brings this down to £79.49 inc 2nd class P&P. (it states no electrical items but it does work for this item). Expires 4/1/09

They are an approved online retailer by GHD

Has anyone bought from this company before? I think some of my Christmas money may be heading their way......

After doing some research for my daughter, various sites recommended Baybliss ?? 2300 straightners. The basic ones in Boots were about £25.
Daughter is so pleased wih them so no longer uses OH GHDs.....
They need to be the ones that heat up to 230 degrees and they start at £25 and go up to about £120... worth a try

I got my OH some of the Babyliss 230 ones for Christmas as her GHDs had packed up.

She swears by them and says they are much better than GHDs

Argos had the Babyliss ones for £39 before christmas, not sure is they are still that price tho.
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

Yes I have used them before with no problems and they are an approved online retailer for GHD so should be fine

I was about to go for this deal when i read on amazon from the reviewers that the ghd brake down within the first year.

i am going to get my mrs one of theses when the price goes down, it was £39 in the sales but now gone up in amazon. http://www.amazon.co.uk/BaByliss-2034U-Pro-Radiance-Straightener/dp/B001CBWAU4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1262439534&sr=8-1-spell

I got this one from argos for the mrs and had to return back as she said the straighterner did not leave a shine on the hair.

I have had my first pair of GHD's for at least 6 years and they are still working. The only reason I bought a new pair recently was that someone kindly posted a fantastic deal on MSE for the wide plate version (£59.50) and I have really thick hair.

Obviously with electrical items there will be some quality issues but all GHD's are covered by a 2 year warranty so they should have been able to use that if they failed after a year
  • aww disappointing, I just got this email:
Thank you for your recent order.

Unfortunately, your GHD item has been cancelled as your order does not comply with the terms of the discount offer.

Your order included an Electrical item, which are exempt from the offer as detailed on the original offer information.*

Please place a new order for the item without entering the discount code.

    Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

    * If you found the discount code on an online discount website, please note that BeautyBay.com has no connection with such sites and any information on these sites have not been authorised by us and as such we cannot be held responsible for any miss information that such a website may give. (i.e. not informing you that electrical products are excluded from this offer).

Does anyone know of any similar offers so I can buy these elsewhere? Am reluctant to go to eBay - thanks!

I kind of suspected this would be the case which is why I didn't order from them. There are quite a few offers around at the moment like £99 with free delivery and free heatmat or thermal protector. I wish I could make my mind up what to go for

  • I'm currently quite tempted by a few on eBay to be honest! Am wary of fakes etc though.
