I've had a set of GHD's for over a year now. I'd tried other models but they never did anything for my very thick hair. After borrowing a set from a friend I fell in love with them. I was lucky enough to recieve a set as a present from the boyfriend and wouldn't be parted from them. I can highly recommend this company http://www.thefunkygroup.co.uk/index.asp as I know he raved about their great prices and efficient delivery. Hope it helps :D

Just a note from someone who's had a not so good experience with thefunkygroup - I ordered a set of the purple straighteners a couple of weeks before Christmas, on a day where I could actually be in the following day to receive delivery. By late the next afternoon I'd received no dispatch email and no sign of the package, so we phoned them up. The man on the other end of the phone told us that they didn't actually have them in stock (although the website claimed that they did!). They were expecting them the following Monday so the delivery should be with me the middle of the week. All said in a "I haven't done anything wrong and I don't give a toss if you're annoyed" tone of voice. Both my fiance and I were working all the following week, so that was no good. We requested a refund, but it wasn't until I sent a very firmly worded email well over a week later that I actually got it.

So just because the website claims they have something in stock, it doesn't mean they do. I ended up ordering mine through my hairdressers, only cost me £7 more in the end.
  • There must be some on sale somewhere. Has anyone a site they can recommend pls?

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
After a month of hearing nothing I rang GHD today about my straightners. They said they wrote to me 10th Dec but I had no letter.

So Its as I thought they cant fix my broken straightners and I have 2 options to pay £10 to get the broken ones back or to buy a new pair off them at the reduced price of £90 for mark 4's normally £120.

It seems a lot to me, £90:eek: Il look online as dont know what the average price is?

The cheapo Babyliss pro 230's I got as an imtrim measure are ok, pretty good in fact but I do miss my ghds:confused:

So got to have a think see what I think is best, but not keen on that price!

  • I just got a good deal on the pink kit, I checked all the sites ghd reccomend on their websitefor prices and www.beautybay.com was selling them for £116.99 (rrp £150) I checked around and got code for 10% (Jan09) and checked the cashback checker on here, you can get it from ipoints and mutualpoints at 3%. Without cashback it brings it down to £108.79 including delivery. Its a better price than my friend who is a hairdresser could get me without her having a profit!

    http://www.ghdhair.com/uk/ghd-iv-purple-styler

I want to buy GENUINE GHDs from a trusted retailer.

If any of you'se have GHDs, can you please tell me if they look nice.

Could you please help me. I really need to buy GHDs for my daughter.
I would like to find a good deal on them. At the moment i can only find them for around £150 and thats quite expensive.

Help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance!:money::rotfl::T:A:eek::cool::o

I have the purple GHDs and they're lovely - really shiny purple with silver patterns. I love them.

You won't get them for much under £150 though, not for the purple ones. On the plus side, they do come with a travel hairdryer and heat-proof roll up storage bag.

If the £150 price range is more than what you were looking to pay, what about considering the pink ones instead? They're still very pretty (and more importantly will do exactly the same job). The deal that Bubbles911 posted above would get you the pink set for less than £110.
  • Beware all GHD fans. DO NOT buy straighteners from the website shoppingghd.com as they are definitely fake. You have been warned.
