    Hi,

Looking at getting some GHDs as my straightners are carp. There seem to be quite a few to choose from, I have long thickish hair are there one pair which would be more beneficial. Thanks x

the normal size ones should be fine as long as your hair is not superthick, or superlong, its better to have this size for curling as well, buy a pair..you definitely will not regret it!!!!

    Hi
I also phoned Boots this morning - its very sad they're not getting more in before Christmas.

Is this Boots online or a Boots store?

I'm searching for a pair of GHDs on behalf of my DS for his partner for Crimbo, I like the offers available at Boots Online but they currently have no stock. Anyone have any idea whether they will be getting stock back online.

Also my DS partner has long-ish thick-ish hair so can anyone with similar hair type comment on whether should get wide or salon.

    Thanks

Woo hoo, ordered my first pair of GHDs and they have been dispatched.

    I am so excited!
  • Sorry if this isn't in correct forum, tried on main Buy-it do-it forum but didn't get any replies.

I currently have a pair of GHD's but am looking for an additional set of straighteners to use "on the go" i.e. in the car or to have in my handbag.

I understand that portable/gas ones wont be as good as "the real thing" but wondered if anyone could recommend a decent set, I'm not too fussed on price as GHD's are expensive but worth it so I understand that often you get what you pay for.

    Please help................

    Thanks :-)

I'd had my GHD straightners for three years (bought for 99 pounds out of student loan!) when they broke last year (hole burnt through the wire near to the base of the plates). I looked at getting a new pair but couldn't believe how expensive they are and there was no way I could afford to pay that.

I emailed GHD to ask if they could repair them. They said I had to post them at my own cost and then pay for the repair IF they could actually be repaired at all.

In the end what I did was buy a replacement cable from a reputable guy on eBay who does lots of GHD reapirs. The cable cost 18 pounds, was delivered overnight, and came with instructions. My dad removed the cable, added in the new one, and they worked as good as ever! Still working fine now.

In the meantime I had bought a 20 euro pair from a Boots-type shop here in Germany and I couldn't tell the difference.

I used to love GHDs but I'd no longer recommend them as they are simply so expensive and their performance compared to other straighners doesn't justify the cost.

    Hi
I have these as I couldn't face paying £100 for my hair. They are great, obviously I have nothing to compare to. But my hair is so fluffy and fly away, and they work with mine. I would wait for the sale as I got mine in argos for £37.50

    Hope this helps
