Hello

My wife informed me that for Xmas she wants a pair of "GHD straighteners".

I have no idea what they are. But I see you are all talking about it, what a find.

I don't do the Boots card things, so whats the best deal?

Thanks

People have mentioned loads of good deals on this forum but please beware of fakes if you are buying online. If you go onto the GHD website they'll give you a list of their authorised dealers or you can e-mail them direct to ask if a website is genuine or not. Going back in posts you'll see people have mentioned sites NOT to use for example - www.gohiline.com - PLEASE DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE AS THEY ARE TOTAL !!!! FAKES!!!!!
GHD's are normally over £100 - so you are looking at paying around that figure.

I ended up buying Babyliss Pro 230 straighteners as loads of people had recommended them on this forum and they are great - they have a higher temperature than GHD's (230 degrees as opposed to 210 degrees) and they have a temperature setting so you can turn them down a bit if 230 is too hot. I got mine from Tesco Direct for about £35.00.

Good Luck

Boots do usually sell the mk1V styler as i got one a few weeks ago, but i've just checked and it looks like its been removed from the website. I'd give them a call to see if its just OOS, and if so when they are expecting more stock. HTH

I mailed GHD who confirmed they are not an authorised stockist and have given me this link where you can check their authorised stockists -

I bought ghd mkIV from boots a few weeks ago for £99 and got approx £19 of points which was great , only problem was needed 2 pairs and now boots out of stock. Ordered a second air from ghd-uk.co.uk at 3.59pm on monday and they were delivered on tuesday morning, I was really impressed. They were £99 also free postage and had heatmat and thermal protector with it.

I did ring ghd first to make sure this site was ok as looks so similar to ghd's offical site lol
TOTAL 44 weeks lose. 6st 9.5lb :T
• I .went all the way to manchester last night for the christmas event to buy my ghds. They were out of stock. Ive rang cs this morning and apparently they wont be getting any more in before xmas! Boo Hoo! Back to square one. if anyone hears any different please post. Thanks
• Hi
I also phoned Boots this morning - its very sad they're not getting more in before Christmas.

My shortlist is:

Feelunique . According to this site they are approved dealers, but when I double checked on the GHD website they are not approved. Using Quidco they would be the cheapest, at 94.95 - 6% Quidco code and then 8% cashback.

But, I don't think I'm brave enough to risk a possibly not-approved site.

I think I'm going to go for Lookfantastic, 94.99 with a £5 code on this site, and I'll also try going via Nectar but doubt I can get the 2% cashback when using the code. But its worth a try...:rotfl: Updated to say: code did not work - I phoned and the call operator explained that codes don't work on GHDs as they are so heavily discounted. I did hint that other sites were cheaper and she said they don't price match and to get the best deal I could! I hope the Nectar points come. I guess £95 is not a bad price, with free thermal protector lotion, and the knowledge that they are genuine.

Hope this helps?
