Thank god I've found this thread as I was thinking about purchasing them from gohaironline.com.
What did ghd say?
I emailed GHD using the contact on their official website and they confirmed that gohaironline is an approved stockist. So I am now confused as to whether they are or not!0 -
Hi
I have a pair of GHD's which there is something wrong with, you have to realy squeze them together for them to work. I will send them off to GHD but need some before Wednesday.
I have just booked to go to Spain on Wednesday morning and will need some to take with me.
Anyone know of the cheapest place to get them, reading it apears there ar elots of fakes around at the moment.
Thanks in advance, I've just woke up thinking argh what am I going to do and getting myself stressed which is why I was going away in the first place.
Thanks

Ive not had need for them myself
but have seen NUMEROUS threads berating random websites promising them cheap and quick delivery, but invariably they are fake/broken and take more than 2weeks to come through.
The concencus from other purchasers has been to use boots points or vouchers to get them in a store somewhere. You will pay £90ish (less any discount vouchers), but at least they will be genuine, warrentied and in your hands ready for holiday rather than waiting for post from China etc!:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. Please don't be offended if that opinion differs from yours, but feel free to click the 'Thanks' button if it's at all helpful!0 -
I ended up buying mine from www.ghd-uk.co.uk, they were £99 for the regular ones, but came with a fab offical GHD travel bag which is great for storage as the wires to my old GHD's used to end up everywhere, i also got a free GHD heat mat, and thermal hair protector spray and free next day delivery, i'm very impressed, i love my new GHD's!
For those that asked, generally the cheapest standard price you will find on the net is about £95 inc. p&p but if your willing to spend a couple of quid extra and go up to about £99ish your likely to get some freebies thrown in
So are yours definitely authentic? Have you registered them on the GHD website? That's the site I'm probably going to go with if yours were ok.
I know Boots is a safe bet but you only get 1 year warranty with them instead of the 2 years it says on other sites. Not sure why this is, maybe it's wrong?0 -
Can i just add to this thread i bought mine last august from http://www.hqhair.com they are now selling them for £99.95 with a heat mat, I've not had any probs with them to say they get used at least twice a day. They are genuine with sticker etc as i registered them with GHD when they arrived.
I also remember using a money off code that was floating around.
Hope this helps someone.0 -

Did you have other hair straighteners prior to this? I've had numerous pairs, never wanting to fork out for ghd's. I found hair tools and kodo creative to be ace, now I'm on remington ones. Whilst at a mates I used hers and omg, I hardly touched my hair and it was straight! Do you think they are worth the money?0 -

I used mark hill's bought from boots with my points had them for about 6 years thought they were great i would have bought them again but they no longer made them the next model was wider, before i bought the GHD's i tried a couple from argos but took them back think one was the remington they were useless also bought a pair from tesco that was half price they went back too, so i plunged for the GHD's never use them before wow what a difference the kink in my hair goes in one go and i also find my hair stays straight even on damp days. When these pack up i will deffo buy them again.
Id say they were worth the money.
Hope that helps.

for anyone who unsure of the official website : http://www.ghdhair.com/uk/
address is:
ghd, Unit 12 Ryefield Way, Silsden, West Yorkshire,BD20 0EF
UK: 0845 330 1133
if you compare the styling products (shampoo etc) address to ghd postal address they are slightly different but very real. some show the company named as jamella. i'm local to the company so i know.
hope this helps anyone with concerns.0 -
I have spoken to GHD today on 0845 330 1133 as i wanted to check if www.puresilky.com were a genuine site, Ther are not a GHD recommended stockist, The lady on the phone told me one of the ways to identify these fraudulent sites are if they are selling the straighteners in pink as they are no longer available in pink brand new. They also gave me a few reccomended stockist: -
