  • Me again!

The offer I had from Salonlines is no longer available at £115, this is the new offer:-

Option 1 ghd mark 4 styler with free silk results shampoo and conditioner, plus a heat resistant mat only £115

Option 2 Ghd mark 4 styler with free Thermodynamics mousse and hairspray now only £119 with free delivery.

    Still a good deal though.

    Try www.salonlines.co.uk.

These new ones have a 2 year warranty which is even better, and they can be used worldwide, which is great for me as I can now take them to Barbados - yippee!!

Sorry for waffling on but I hope I've helped!!

That is brilliant - thanks for that. I am trying to resist ordering until I put my old ones on EBay next week! The fact that are dual voltage is fab. I bought a pair of cheapies for travelling but have spent both holidays the last few years doing my Monica in Barbados impression :rotfl:

  • Hi I'm new here. My GHD wide straighteners which I've had for a while now aren't working like they use to because of loose wiring  . I've read that you can post them back to GHD and get them fixed or they will send a new one. Do they just require the straighteners and nothing else (original packaging, receipt etc)? I don't really want to pay all that money again when I could get them fixed for nothing.

    Hello

My trusty GHDs about 3 years old have been going downhill rapidly:confused: the light doesnt come on unless you press the 2 plates together - then it heats up but not as good as they use to be, or as hot!

Is it worth sending them off to GHD? the factory in Yorkshire, they say to send recorded, if they can fix them they give you a quote first.

    Might give it a go?

Using some cheapo £10 ones i got from a beauty salon - not that bad but not as quick as ghds!

I have a pair that doesn't work also loose wiring,Really need to know more about sending them back can someone give more info where to send and do i need recipt?
Might strike lucky if they send me a new pair back!!!

My understanding is that you can send them back for free repair as long as they were originally registered, are still under guarantee and you have your original receipt.

Here's the contact by email link - cetainly worth asking them

Even if they aren't working - it may be worth selling them on EBay - it seems like even faulty ones are selling for about £30.

  • I have had the hs+ staighteners for a few months as has my friend ,after trying mine she got some as well. They were great at first BUT the paint has rubbed off the plates for both of us ,so that can't be a coincidence can it?so beware ,i dont think they are really tourmaline or whatever it says on the website. Has anyone else had this happen?

  • I checked with a Boots assitant a few weeks back and they (Boots) have stopped selling GHD products as they do not comply with British Safety Standards! She recommended Babyliss. Apparantly you should not leave GHD's plugged in and unattended. There was an investigation on Watchdog and someone explained how they left there's unattended and came back to a burnt out house...

There was some trouble with the earlier models but the newer ones from the last few years have been changed to fix that. The MK4 ones, just out this week, now have a sleep function whereby they switch themselves off after 15 minutes of inactivity.

To be fair - you shouldn't leave any electrical appliance unattended! How many times in the past did I have to go back upstairs to see if I had switched off my curling tongs :o

Groan.... yes I got to college the other morning, and spend the first two hours fretting that the house was gonna get burnt down cos I didn't remember switching off the straighteners, or even where I'd left them

Luckily enough I was able to ring good old Mum to go and check the house was still there - I HAD left them on, but sitting on the radiator, so were safe..... phew (I did once leave this pair on all day, unattended, oops - I can vouch for Vidal Sassoons not overheating!)
