I finally went back to the doctors today, and she has changed me from prozac to venlafaxine, and signed me off work for two weeks.i feel bad cos i had 3 weeks off in march but with my recent problems ie divorce, health worries, work hassles etc my head was going pop. Is anybody esle on this relatively new anti depressant and what do you think of it?
Do let us know how you are on Venlafaxine. I found Prozac pretty good for a while. Didn't like Paxil - I put on too much weight on that:(

:hello: Just wanted to say Hi to everyone, Rose, Tiff, Fliss, Mrs A, Miroslav, Slayerx, and everyone else I have missed and Hi to all the newcomers. So Sorry to hear alot of you have terrible colds, it must be the change in the weather:rolleyes: Things have not been good for me for a while and I have really struggled today, rang to speak to my CPN and she was off today, so asked to speak to the back up CPN and she is off to, I felt really panicky because I have been having terrible thoughts today, I'm on my own tonight because my OH is away working and will not be back till tomorrow night, my olkdest son is working away too and my youngest son is working till midnight  I have been trying to keep busy, to stop my mind from working overtime, but I must confess, I just had to go cut myself  and now I feel ashamed that I gave into it:confused: aaaarrrggghhh.

I'm sorry for going on, its not helping anybody on here is it, I'll shut up and go away now.

Here's hoping for a better day for all of us tomorrow.
Love and hugsssss to you all

    Betty

    Hi hun
    how are you today?
have you managed to speak to your CPN yet?
its the times when we are alone that are the worst isnt it, thats when our minds take over and our thoughts become our worst nightmares.
i understand what you mean though about feeling ashamed, but i think this is only natural, we hurt ourselves to let the pain out to see the pain inside, just to scream or cry is sometimes not powerful enough. i have been having quite deep thoughts about hurting, this does upset me.
and no you are not going on, we are all here to support each other, you dont need to shut up, we all feel pain. right now i have this sinking feeling, and like something is pressing me down.

    i hope your ok
and just keep posting we are a team and will help anyway we can

    Hey everyone :)
I'm gonna go back to the doctors on monday I think, really need to sort this out before it gets any worse. I'd be tempted to try medication again, but OH is really against that so I'd either have to deal with him being annoyed that I'm on it, or deal with having to lie.
Well done everyone who got dressed today!
I'm still in PJ's, have been since Tue. Not left the house either. Really wanted to today, but was just so scared, I couldn't :( x

    Hi feelinggood
you are def doing the right thing in going back to the docs. give them a ring on monday and sort it out.
as for your OH its not up to him, you are the one feeling the pain, so fa nuff you are a team and he cares about you, but you need to do what is right for you, maybe try some other techniques before you decide to go on medication again, but as i say you need to do what is best for you.

I can't work out why he is being this way
I think one of the main things is that if he comes home and I'm down, or if I haven't done the housework, he finds it really hard to motivate himself to go to work. He keeps mentioning me getting a job, which is scaring the life out of me.
I really don't understand, and I can't talk to him about this.

The thing is fg, it's a huge leap from where you are right now, to "getting a job" - your OH should know that. You're not suddenly going to jump into working - it would be unfair to expect that of you, IMHO...

yes i agree with you saz, you need to give yourself time fg, do things when you are reay.

i will let you in on a secret tho, i dont know if i am ready for a job yet, but i am in a bit of trouble with money which is causing more stress so i need to see if i am ready to work by going for it.

Hi rose, well I made it to Friday :) It was a tough week this week, bosses at work getting on my bl00dy wick, big time. Really had a struggle forcing myself to go in this week. But at least I have the weekend to recover. Well done you though, you've made some real progress, well done, i hope that's helped a bit...
