    I don't think I've overstepped the mark, and if I have I apologise. :o:(

While not pointing out specific treatments or diagnoses it is important to remember that there are different options and channels of support out there (in addition to us :D ).

I know from my own experience and talking to others that it is often very difficult to see that there are any options at all when you are feeling low.

When we are low it can be very difficult to talk about things and you feel even less willing to be pushy with G.P. / psychiatrist / mental health worker to get them to even think about different approaches. Using an advocate or a friend can help as they can be pushy on your behalf.

Anything else I've suggested has been things I know can help, largely from my own experience. :o I know my suggestions might not help anyone but I'm trying to be supportive as best I can.

Some of the other posters have mentioned isolation. For me that's a biggie - if I feel isolated I get more anxious, panicky and my mood drops lower.

It only took me 30-odd years to realise I am a people person and I need human contact otherwise I wilt :(:o .

I find that when I'm depressed I just want to withdraw totally. - How can I expect anyone to want to spend any time with me if I can't stand myself? I feel as if my depression is a highly contagious disease that will spread to anyone who I spend time with. Of course, the isolation just feeds the depression....:cry:

I also know from my own experience that it is much easier to give advice but it is much harder to take it on board yourself.:o :o

I won't apologise for trying to help people. I might be very good at it but it helps me get through the days and I like helping people.

Hope this helps you understand me a bit more and also that it helps you even a tiny bit.

Anyway, meeting 'R' in about an hour so I'd better start getting ready soon. Please all have a safe evening and I look forward to chatting more soon.

    Paul

Reiterating what you are saying Sazzy:)

We are going to start packing up this weekend, decluttering ready to sell in January. It is usually OK here in the winter but I CANNOT have another summer here, it was hell last summer.

Then we have to work out what next when we have sold the place.

I am in a dilemma though. My mother and I want to invest in a second home but feel she won't let me have the place and where I want to live. We are putting in equal amounts of deposit.

She spends a lot of time caring for her elderly husband and doesn't drive. I am happy to help out more than I currently do, it is difficult 450 miles away but worry if I get too close, I will become their full time carer and not get a life.

I haven't had a life - married young, had our son young and now I want to live MY life before I get too old. My mother is very charismatic and I get taken over by her when I don't feel too good. This was one reason I married so young. My marriage hasn't been the best marriage either. I can identify with a lot of what FeelingGood goes through. I had hormone problems when I was younger and got very little, if any support, from anyone and couldn't make friends (or keep them) due to my condition. I was depressed as well due to it all getting me down as well.

I am sick of living with people who bring me down. I want to live alone but see people. Whenever I was living alone, I felt much better.

I feel that makes me sound selfish.

I don't think you're sounding selfish at all, CCStar. It's taken you a lot of time and effort to get to the point where you know what you need, so why jettison that now? It's not selfish to acknowledge your own needs and sometimes it needs you to do it. Sazxxx

FG hun - hope you're doing ok this evening. It's been a tough week for you I know, but I also know you are focused on monday and you are getting your 'ducks in a row' about that :). I think that's a good idea writing stuff down for the doctor - I would do exactly the same, as I find it easier to get my feelings out in writing than I do speaking. Hang in there hun, Monday not far away now, we're all rootin' for ya! Take care and much love, Saz xx

Got in 15 mins ago roughly.

Feel really bad again now. Only thing keeping me going is the thought of 'S' tomorrow, I really hope she doesn't cancel!

Gotta keep reminding myself, for 'S's sake, to get myself up for it tomorrow.

Hi hun, you've had a really long day - you must be exhausted, so try not to think about stuff too much now. Once you've had some sleep, you'll look at tomorrow afresh ok? You've got through today, done and dusted :) so don't feel bad Sxxx

Well, i'm going to bed now, very tired. Will get up tomorrow and hope 'S' doesn't cancel. If she does, i'll be very distraught, if she doesn't, i'll get up for it, even if it's a front, as I want to make her feel good. She doesn't need my problems and probably doesn't want to know them either.

Anyway, have a good sleep, catch up tomorrow hopefully
