Sooo... I've not posted here for a long time... apologies for that
I've been feeling very down the last few weeks.. not sure completely why but I have been seeing a counsellor sporadically (when timetables allow cos when I'm free she isn't and vice versa) and I think that the sessions with her have kind of stirred up some things that I've kept buried since I was a kid and raised my awareness of some other ongoing current things too.
She's recommended I start keeping a journal each day, just before i get into bed to write down my thoughts of the day n stuff but I just cant get into it at all or thing of anything to write, lol
I've had some really stressful things going on these last few weeks too.. one I'd rather not talk about and also my house was burgled last week by someone I thought was a friend... how wrong can you be? nothing much was taken but one thing was an old laptop that I had been using for uni work and sooo.. it's gonna take me ages to catch up on all that ( no lectures about backing up please)
Most days I've been leaving home around 9 am and lucky to be home by 9 or 10 pm between studying and having to attend various meetings and stuff, although this week should be a bit quieter and in fact today I've had a whole day at home and tomorrow I can be at home til 4 which is a bonus
Sometimes tho I think it's not good for me to be at home by myself too much because it gives me too much time on my hands to bring myself down and for example today I've scoffed loads of chocolate n stuff and had to get rid of it afterwards... not good...
Ho hum tomorrow is another day...
Hope ur all coping with stuff ok
Take care

Any depressed men about?:beer:0 -
Hey Phil, nice to see you over here.
Don't think there are any men about - we do have a few but they're all out for the night I think.

Hi All,
I've been reading thru some of your posts and thought I could maybe post and get some advice.
I live with my dh of 2yrs in E. Midlands (family all in N. Ireland), dh has been suffering depression for many years, but has only got help in the last 2 yrs (meds/long course of CBT/consultant - provided thru my works Private Health Ins).
Dh has been off work since June 06, and not likely to go back to the same job as it was a call centre - high stress. Today his GP said he may be bi-polar - I dont think either of us know what to do.
To top it off I began to have morbid thoughts and went to see GP around 2 mths ago, and I was put on meds, I've also been off work for the last 3 mths.
I guess we both dont know how to manage our depression. And most days we just spend at home on the computer/Xbox/tv. We dont have friends or family here.
I was wondering if dh does lose his job bec hes been off over 6 mths, are there benefits he can claim? How do we go about this?
Financially we are ok - thankfully. Its just the support network and understanding from our families.
Would love to hear your thoughts.
Love,
