    Morning guys :)
Went to pub last night, quite pleased. I drank, but only had 4 drinks! Thats about 10 units or so, and an awful lot less than usual. Didn't make any huge mistakes either.
Waiting in for my straighteners today, gonna do my hair later.
I'm feeling a little bit manic, I'm wanting to be socialable, I want to go out and talk to people and drink and party and stuff.
Feel like I've got loads of energy, but can't use it productively.
Oh, nightmares again last night - that makes over 3 weeks of nightmares every night!

    Hey CC :)
Your posts are never pathetic hun. It sounds like you are severely stressed. Children generally only have one volume hun and it's LOUD! They don't understand angel. ;)
Do you know how long the building will go on for? Sounds like you must be deprived of your sleep/peace and that is well known to make you feel very down. Visit to GP for some temporary help perhaps CC? If they give you sleeping tablets for a week or two you might get some badly needed rest. A lot of these are not addictive any more.
Also, you can contact your local environmental health agency as they can measure the volume and advise you on what is & what isn't allowed noise wise. I think  that you can make a reasonable amount of noise until 10pm or 11pm. there are noise pollution laws.
Regarding the car angel, straight on the phone to the professionals like CAB or even phone your local police and ask their advice. The police can advise you what is and isn't legal in various scenarios. If they didn't state that there would be a fee for
the quote, they can't hold you to it I don't think. I also think that even if they can hold the car, it is probably NOT legal to withhold your belongings. Of course the situation is likely to be one of your word against theirs but don't let that put you off hun. Your answer then is, "So you're calling me a liar?" Consult the police/CAB before you get back to them.
If it was a case of a misunderstanding, then explain that you wouldn't have asked for a quote if you'd known there was a fee and that you're a family on a very low income and can't afford it. Say you wanted to get a free quote from them because their reputation is good and that it was never explained to you that there would be a fee. You can catch more with honey... appeal to their better nature - tell them you were planning on having the work done with them. Maybe if they know you want them to repair the car, they'll make a goodwill gesture.
Just some thoughts angel - hope this helps.
    Tiff x

Thank you I really appreciate your support.

The noise isn't all the time but when it is there, it drives us nuts. There hasn't been any noise for weeks then all at once. The kids never play in the dark till 9pm, garages don't hold our car to ransom and our car doesn't conk out all the time but yesterday was the day for all the cr*p. I woke at 8.30 am and got no peace till 9pm but of course I couldn't sleep till 4am because I was so stressed.

We know we have to get out of here and get a new car but we have our own timetable. We wanted to do all this in the new year after Christmas - Christmas is such an interruption:mad:

I know all the legal aspects of noise but if we are wanting to sell, then we don't want it on record, so trying to get thro it. We were threatened last time we complained about the midweek party behind by their grown up children. We were going to tell the parents but my mum advised us not to.

They did some building work in the summer and it stopped, then it just started up again with no warning and don't know when it will stop.

Yes you are right, there was no indication that there would be charge for looking. We have used them before and they were OK.

We've got very noisy neighbours at our other house - luckily we have stopped spending any time there - and the niose was a factor. Single guy and his teenager daughter - can't belive someone would be so irresposible with his kids - its awful - doesn't she need sleep? I don't want to listen to her and her mates gossiping with really loud music on till 4am thank youvery much.
We've never done anything about it either, as we will probably sell soon, and don't want to have it causing problems. Kinda makes you feel trapped doesn't it? Awful really.

Had a card this morning from my old job because technically I finished there yesterday, it was quite nice.

I have been asked if there is anything from my desk I want dropping off for me.

I have also had a survey from them asking me about my employment so I will be honest as I don't want other people going through what I went through.

Am not feeling too bad today, just had a shower and sitting here eating some Cadbury Collection biscuits

    Hi

Does the drinking help or do you think it might be causing nightmares. Alcohol is one of the worst things to use to self medicate. I have the odd glass or two now and again but if I drank regularly, I would be a mess.

The hair straighteners sound good, I hope they arrive today:)

Are your nightmares about the same thing? or different things?

It is frustrating when you want to be around people and no-one is around.

    Hi

It is great you are feeling OK today

Can you not collect your items yourself?

If you feel it won't be to your detriment, then be honest, they need to know their place is a stressful place to work (I don't know what you went thro')

    Enjoy your biscuits:)

Blimey, you're lucky to have another place. I would get shot of it.

Yes I feel very trapped. For the past 10 years we have lived in noisy places. I don't know where to look next?

I've debated the drinking with myself long and hard - cause or symptom, and I don't really know. I'm not a bad drunk, I'm the life and soul of the party, so much fun and everything. But I end up taking it to far.
I don't drink every day, so I dont think the nightmares are to do with that - I have them even when I've not drank for a few days.
They are about a few different things, general theme of being trapped or rejected. Or loosing someone.
Wish I could have a party now lol.

I rang my mum last night for advice about the car.

She is very generous with her money to me, but there is a price. I have to do things her way.

She is a very strong person and I feel very weak and stupid around her.

When I moved up here, I felt freer and got counselling which worked well. I felt free for the first time in 1996.

As I said in other posts, we have had nothing but bad luck for the past 10 years and still in the thick of a load of poo, so thought talking to my mother would help. She gave us advice about the garage but feel 'owned' by her.

I haven't felt this since I lived down south near her. The only way I can do it is if she pays a proportion of the deposit.

I did plan on buying a place down south but not sure now. She wants me very near her but I know I would be her slave. I don't mind helping and not doing it for money either. It is nice to have financial help, especially as our income has gone down but don't like her attitude. I can't relax when I am near her either.

I want a place for ME, where I can be ME, instead of being other people's puppets. I feel so bullied by everyone, my neighbours, my husband, my son, my mother - everyone. I am too scared to look for work in case I am bullied there. I was bullied at school and at some jobs. I must have a 'bully me' sign on me. I was agoraphobic on days I felt bad, as I was always bullied on days I felt bad. I am not agoraphobic now but don't like mixing with people. I feel whatever I do is the wrong thing

For the past 25 years, I have been a wife, mother and daughter first. I haven't had MY time yet!
