Good point. I haven't been here very long, but did wonder if anyone would question the money saving element of the thread. I realised myself as to the moneysaving element in this thread which is written in my reply to her statement

    I read it earlier too.
Maybe she rejects before being rejected.
    Common for us depressives.
I find a lot of people have the 'don't be a drama queen' attitude or 'pull yourself together' attitude, even if they are depressed themselves. I guess it is their self rationalisation and way of coping. Trouble is others can see it as being harsh and lacking empathy. It certainly pushed a few buttons today.

Oh dear that's really sad, isn't it? I don't know what this thread has done to hurt that person, someone who says they themselves suffer from depression, I'm completely mystified, I'll admit. I wonder if she's reported all of the other, in her judgement, "non-money saving" threads, as well as this one... but I doubt it. Just hope she feels better for it...
That would be rather mean but she has posted an apology, so I guess she is unlikely to.

If we can get through this and help her, as she says she is depressed, I am sure she will mellow and get the full benefit from this thread. We can all put our foot in it.

Hi gil - no, I think you're someone who's possibly in a lot of pain and need to talk or some help but are scared to make that first step hun. I'm probably a thousand miles off course so sorry if I've got that wrong - I just get the feeling that you want to open up but can't quite bring yourself to make that first huge step. Some people just don't handle alcohol well either physically or mentally. It's a great hiding place people think but they don't see it for the trap it is. You can tell Tiff to shut up now! ;)

So much depression can stem from alcohol. It is helpful in small doses to relax and escape but when it become too much of a habit, it counterproductive.

I have to be really careful too.

Hi All, Sorry I haven't been around for a while. Wow this thread has been busy the last few days. Can't get round to replying to everyone, but it seems people have been going through rough patches and I send Hugs to you all.

To Liz - I did actually start a depression thread in the Money Savers Arms section of this board, but one of the board gods moved it and merged it with this thread, so the board moderators obviously are aware of this thread and happy for it to exist here. If you are so concerned about it why not contact one of them instead of upsetting a group of people who are suffering as it is.

Well, I am having quite a good time at the moment, drinking a little too much (which I see is a common problem!!) but apart from that things are going fairly well. Really enjoying my new job, medication has solved my insomnia problem, getting 7-8 hours almost every night now.

Have my 'week one review' at work this morning, so feeling a little anxious, but I think things have been going ok.

It is wierd when I am going through a good patch I feel reluctant to post on here, as I feel it is 'rubbing it in' for those going through bad patches!!

One thing I did want to say to those on medication - do you know about the pre-payment prescription thing? I found out about it the other day on another thread on here. I take two meds every month and I have worked out buying the 4 month prepayment will save me about £5 every month and this way if I ever need a prescription for anything else it is already paid for!

Well, need to go and get ready for work now, but love to you all.

Hi Flis - welcome home. I too questioned in my own mind that some people had been re-directed from the MoneySavers Arms to here. Good luck with your review angel.
I can see Martin's point and agree it is his forum and there are legal aspects to consider. I think I've only talked generally and pointed people in various directions eg... advising people to see GP, DIAL, CAB and depression related money comments.
I'm sorry if I have inadvertently broken the rules. I am a sincere admirer of you Martin and respect the work you do. I have enjoyed being a part of your forum on this thread - as well as others. What was nice here is that people on all the threads/boards are generally wanting to help. This seemed a nice place to be and has helped me financially and otherwise and that's why we opened up our feelings here. It's a shame - where do I go now? Not an insult to you Martin in any way, but it seems we can't all fit in anywhere. Most forums are condition related.
For people like myself, could someone please clarify the situation once more?
Meanwhile I'll start looking to find if there is another forum we can use before we get our eviction date.:o
    Much love to everyone,
    Tiff x

Unless someone has reported this thread, why would we have to worry about it being moved or deleted?

    Hello, good to meet you.

    Good luck with the review.

I do know what you mean about saying when things are going well. I feel if I say anything goes well, it puts a hex on it, and things start going bad again.

It is good to hear people are having good patches, so don't worry, I would find it encouraging.

You are so sweet (I mean that in a complimentary way), nice is also good. If she can trust and talk about them, you will both be able to help each other. She may get a bit hot and cold on you but it is her insecurity doing it.

Thanks, I hope she sees me that way, and wants to have a good friendship with me. I'm unlike any other bloke she has ever known, and my flatmate says she doesn't see any reason why we won't get along..........I hope shes right!

I'm just eager to make this work, because the confidence i'll get out of it, could be the thing that helps me improve other areas of my life too.
