Does anyone have a telephone number for WW. I am unable to get logged in online, have tried resetting etc but still no joy.Jan Grocery challenge
Budget £350 - Spent £64.45 to date0 -
I joined Weight Watchers a couple of months back and pay for a monthly pass
HOWEVER - if you go to your doctors you can get WW's free for 3 months , I believe you can be referred even by the surgery nurse. Many at my weekly meeting are there for free
Well worth a visit to your GP, you can also get free gym passes.0 -
For a free alternative that does pretty much the same thing (with actual calories, not notional 'points', try https://www.myfitnesspal.com. It has a huge database of foods and you can configure your own goals etc. It works online as a stand-alone website, but really comes into its own if you have an Iphone or Ipod Touch. Download the free app, and you have a handy calorie counter in your pocket which works offline - you can keep track of everything you eat as you go; then when you go online it automatically syncs with your profile on the website.0

Not sure if anyone is interested but there's also another free weight loss site sparkpeople.com - it's calorie based with nutritional/exercise trackers, forums, health advice, exercise vids and advice and did I mention completely FREE! It takes a bit of getting used to if you're used to weight watchers points system but completely manageable and you can even have your meals planned for you. The site is American but don't let that put you off there's loads of Brits on there.0

Both Slimming World and Weight Watchers are in business to make money. They make offers knowing that people will forget to cancel the DD and/or will decide to stick with them anyway beyond the free trial. Then, because of the near-certainty that those who lose weight with them will put it all on again plus more, they are guaranteed a steady stream of customers. Both SW and WW offer a healthy diet plan which if adhered to will result in weight loss. But to keep the weight off permanently, the new way of eating (or diet) needs to become a permanent way of life. If you stick to the diet permanently, there will come a point where you won't lose any more weight and will maintain the loss. But if you start to eat much more food than you were eating whilst following the diet or if you start to eat different types of foods from those on the diet, the weight will pile on again. And you'll be easy pickings for SW and WW again!
Well of course, what's the point in a system where you can't keep taking the monthly payment? WW and slimming world are out to make money, no point inventing a system that will lead to a permanent change in behaviour and thus no chance of repeat custom.0 -
