Has anyone done the online version of WeightWatchers?
I've been to meetings in the past but wondered if this is a better way of losing weight as i'm considering joining up again (due to indulging a little too much over xmas!)
I'd like to know the pro's & con's from other people who have done this to get a good idea on whats best

Online WeightWatchers or weekly Meetings???
If you dont ask you dont get to know....

I noticed that it recomeded cancelling at the end of the free trial. but I found this statement at the bottom of the page on quidco.
*Qualified means that the subscriber's credit card subscription has been approved (i.e. no cancellation of free trial, no insufficient funds or expired credit card). They need to have entered our recurring billing system successfully and become paying subscribers. No cashback can be paid on products purchases.

Does it mean that you have to continue with the monthly subscription (after the first 3 months) to be able to claim the cashback?

To me what you have quoted sounds like you will have to subscribe to it after the trial!

As I see it you will be a paying member as you will be joining and paying for 3 months membership. It is the joining fee that is free. The £30 that you will get back from quidco will then cover the cost of the 3 month membership fee.

I hope thats right?
• HI all,

Yes that's correct. You're signing up and paying for the three month package but the £30 cashback you get will effectively cancel it out, making it free. Here's what Quidco says:

"We’re not actually offering a free trial. What is being offered is a reduction equal to the initial sign-up fee of £29.95 that any new WeightWatchers online customer needs to pay. The customer will still need to use their credit card to pay £28.95 for the three month plan (although this is effectively cancelled-out by the Quidco cashback.) As long as this plan is not cancelled within the agreed three month period, the customer will receive their cashback."
• I have lost weight before by attending ww meetings but since i stopped going i have regained it all...familiar story.. I really need to lose some weight again but to be honest i feel embarrassed going back to the same class (the only one i can actually get to) and seeing the leader again, which i know is stupid... What i would like to know is how the meetings compare with the online plan, has anyone done both...how did they compare, which was more sucsessful... Just worried i wont stick to it if i know i wont have the weekjy weigh in... Thanks in advance
• Hi debtfreeatlonglast,

Please dont feel embarrassed about seeing the same leader again, thats what they are there for -to support you in your weight loss journey and what you want to achieve xxxx

I started WW online in Jan 2007 and successfully lost over 2 stone. I found the WW online excellent and weighed in every Monday (you still need to be dedicated to weigh in every week). At the same time, my Mum did the WW meetings. She enjoyed the meetings but I enjoyed the online subscription so I guess it depends on what you prefer. I did try one meeting but didn't like it, found the leader quite patronising so I didn't go back and started the online. My Mum found her leader to be excellent though. What I liked about the online subscription was that is was there all the time, i.e. if you really fancy a chocolate bar you can search for the points value there and then rather than having to look it up in a book or ask someone. Also, there were lots of recipes and you can build up your own recipes to work out the points values. I stayed subscribed for a year and found it invaluable. A year on I have kept the weight off, just stuck to the WW principles and cook books. Worked for me.
• has anyone tried to take advantage of the deal? because when i click thru to the weightwatchers site they are only offering £20 off not £29.95 as advertised on MSE so with the £30 cashback it would cost me £9.95 and not nothing. Have i missed something?

I'm a Slimming World consultant and I have to say, please don't think that this is money saving. We, at Slimming World, don't offer Direct Debits, people forget to cancel them, WW know this..and as a result make even more money out of people's desire to lose weight.. We get our members to their goal, we support them all the way. Your choice, but I know, as a seasoned money saver, that I'd prefer Direct Support, NOT Direct Debit.
