Do you receive any of the qualifying benefits with the extra criteria needed to receive CWP?
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I'm afraid that it appears you do not margymuggins. You would need to have one of the main qualifying benefits to be eligible.

Edit - Begger, DX2 beat me to it...going to have to be faster! :rotfl:

Lol....I like to let people down gently.

Plus, it doesn't help that I spend ages checking and rechecking I have got my brain in gear and am giving out the right info!

Still getting used to this bit after the housing debate board so my confidence is a little low in my knowledge (lack of confidence not caused by the debate board, it's all about opinions rather than fact which can impact on someone's life)

  • Just want to say thank you to this thread. Cos I finally popped on to Direct.gov and checked if I was eligible for benefits and it looks like I might be...

Going to sort that out tomorrow.

    Thank you!

Might be an idea to pop your situation down on a new thread here on the benefit board and we maybe able to help if you like :)
