Looked here and checked that there are 2 payments due for Cold Weather Payments (CWP).

Checked my bank statemnts no extras added since November.

Tried to contact Pensions Centre by phone but all I got was 'presss 1 for this pension' or '2 for this pension nothing' about CWP.

E-mailed them and auto reply said wait 10 days for an answer!!!!

All I want to know is am I (and my wife) entitled. Both under 60 but both on DLA and Incapacity Benefit -- grrrrrr
No IB is not a qualifying benefit.
    *SIGH*
    :D
  • My husband and I live in Havering, as do his parents, and mine live in Dagenham. Neither set of parents is entitled to cold weather payments as they live in an RM postcode area, and their weather measuring station is on the Thames Estuary at Gravesend in Kent.
Yet Barking (Barking and Dagenham is one borough) does get the payment, because its weather station is at Heathrow. How ludicrous is this?
As I look out of my window, snow is blanketing the ground, and there's not a brass monkey in sight - the temperature has not risen above freezing for some days now. Yet according to the government it hasn't been cold enough to trigger any payments.
We don't need to worry about climate change though - there is clearly some miraculous device which stops the cold air from leaving Barking and passing into Dagenham and then onto Havering!:rotfl:
I'd like to think that our esteemed government would apply a bit of common sense to the situation, and release the payments to Dagenham and Havering, as is only fair - but then I still believe in the Tooth Fairy!

I'm sure most people whpo happily give your son their £25 if he took their disability and all the crap that comes with it. And surely it's not just a case of "I have a million kids; please can I have a CWP?"

:confused:still dont know why basic jsa or basic incapacity benefit does nt apply?
jsa is a short is term benefit paid to people looking for work and those ppl without kids under 5 or a disability do not need to heat there homes 24/7 because they should be out looking for work.

  • Hi Dont know if this helps but I live in the Yorkshire area and have received two out of a possible three (according to the post code checker). First on 31/12/2009, second on 06/01/2010 . So there is some hope and some payments are going through. Also i only received the letter about the first payment(received 31/12/09) on the 08/01/10 so dont wait for a letter keep checking your bank.
I hope everyone receives their payments soon.
