if basic jsa is the basic money needed to live per week it seems unfair that no help is given unless yhey have children under 5
I think you need to read the criteria again ;)

You may also be eligible for a Cold Weather Payment for each qualifying week if you are getting Income Support, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance or income-related Employment and Support Allowance in the assessment phase and have one of the following:
    • a pensioner premium, higher pensioner premium or enhanced pensioner premium
    • a disability premium, enhanced disability premium or severe disability premium
    • a disabled child premium
    • Child Tax Credit that includes a disability or severe disability element
    • a child who is under five in the family
    *SIGH*

  • Why is it everywhere in the country has had at least 1 cold weather payment except my area ??

I did some random checks & it seems most have had 1 payment triggered. It baffles me how we can still not be elligble as the whole country has been below 0 for over 7 days now. I can only assume there is something wrong with the weather station at gravesend.

I checked the temp each day for gravesend since new years day & it has always been at least 0 since last saturday.

Min temp was -4 for 2 days, -2 for 2 days & 0 for 3 days. The highest temp was 2C which was the max temp for 2 days & 1C for 2 days & 0 for 3

the average for the week should be around -2

if this weather is to continue for another week or so then thats another 30 pounds I will have to find as I am getting through £5 a day in gas

Is anyone else in the same position as me having not got the trigger I would be very interested to know if any other weather stations havent recorded a 0 average

Looks like the TV will have to go now as I cant afford the licence fee :(

If an IB claimant is entitled to DLA this will give premiums which will mean that they may also be entitled to an IS top up.
    Gone ... or have I?
