    Morning all

Really cold and still dark here, no snow but very icy and frosty on the paths and gardens. Snow is forecast here tonight, we'll have to wait and see. DS1 and DS2 back to shcool today - hope the schools don't shut as don't have any childcare if they do - DS1 old enough to be left at home on his own but wouldn't want to leave them both all day. Dad is ok, at the moment his medication is being increased in stages and so he's having to take it steady and watch for any side effects. OH back after the Xmas and New Year break and they still appear to be quite busy so he's back to getting up at 4.30am - he did wake me this morning but I managed to get back to sleep. Think I'm still sleeping off the tiredness from our caravan rally over the New Year, cooked for 4 nights hot 3 course dinners for 64 people! Everyone had a good time so that's the most important thing and despite the work I do enjoy it!!! (mad or what?)

Went back to work yesterday and was busy, I think that's a combination of people missing the 1st and it being a Monday - and also the forecast not looking too good for us today.

Have my big birthday on Thursday this week, and OH and I are going away for 1 night on Saturday to a hotel managed to get a good deal - so am really looking forward to that.

Had fish provencale with jacket wedges, green beans and peas for dinner last night whilst OH had fish in breadcrumbs, jacket wedges and baked beans. Tonight's dinner is our fav pasta with smoked sausage and mushrooms in a creme fraiche sauce - yummy!

Went to the scales yesterday and have put on 3llb over the Xmas and New Year break, really pleased with that as was eating quite differently to what I normally do now and had a fair quantity of alcohol so straight back to it now - just will enjoy my birthday and weekend away and then back to it properly. Not much else to report.

Take care those in the snow. Keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Good Morning everyone and what a chilly one it is .Well success and hats off to the blood ladies yesterday they managed to find a vein, and bless them used whats called a baby needle to extract some bloods.
Had a odd afternoon though, I walk with a stick as I have a mobility problem and on arriving at the hospital I parked in a disabled bay as I am fully entitled to do as I have a blue badge.I had just got out ( sliding about a bit as it was very icy ) and a chap comes striding up to me ranting and raving."You can get two cars in there you selfish b***h whats the matter with you, can't you drive, people have to try and park here and you are taking up two spaces."I let him rant on for a further minute or so I have found that when folk are frothing at the mouth there is no point trying to argue it just makes them crosser. When he started to slow down a bit I just looked at him and said 'Excuse me I think you might have made a mistake, this is a disabled bay and I have a badge and am entitled to park here"
The look on his face was worth the abuse.he went all colours of the rainbow and started to stutter a bit "oh,errrm oh,bl88dy he££" His wife walked up to him and clouted him smartly about the head(beating me by seconds. I must admit she had a great right hook) and said "You daft bu$$er ,you are always shouting the odds, so bl**dy well apologise".He slunk off muttering and rubbing his ear. I hobbled into the hospital giggling to myself. There definitely nowt so queer as folk is there.
Well after being sucked of my blood, I then went to see the oncologist and she is pretty pleased with how everything is going and apart from seeing the consultant in May for a yearly checkup and mammogram, and my bonescan in September she is happy not to see me for another year at least So Thats another year crossed of the remission time, two down and three to go so I was a happy bunny:j:j which is more than the chap in the car park was with his thick ear.
Thgis morning I have a school run to do with my three youngest DGS.We will no doubt play 'Dragons' which is to see who has the biggest puff of air in the cold .It is very icy ATM and I am hoping we don't get more snow as I have such a busy week ahead of me.Still I havn't spent any cash yet this month and have been shopping from my freezer.Hope eveyone has a good day and keeps wrapped up warm
take care everyone and thak you for all your kind thoughts and messages
    Cheers JackieO xx
Just off to have my porridge

    :wave:Morning all,

I'm not sure what the weather's like here as it's all dark :D OH had to de-ice his car though so I've got that to do to mine later. My car is getting old and tatty and there seems to be a lot of moisture trapped inside it which means I get ice on the inside as well as the outside  It's a real pain at this time of the year.

I don't really need to go anywhere but I thought I'd pop up to homebase and buy a big bag of tealights for my new oil burner. I could walk, but I have to take dd swimming later so I'll need the car de-iced anyway. Not much of an excuse is it? :o

Anyway, kids are back at school :jso finally I'll have some time to myself.

    Breakfast was porridge/granola with sultanas/bananas.

Lunchboxes have salami/chicken liver pate whml rolls, carrot sticks, fruit and lemon curd muffins (OH has Xmas cake in his). I'll have pate and toast plus carrot sticks and fruit.

Supper will be chicken and leek pie with vegetables. I'm using leftover roast chicken for this and quick flaky pastry (made for sausage rolls but not used). Must remember to make pie this afternoon as have swimming run after school.

Also must ring pool and check lesson is on as trailed all the way there yesterday afternoon for synchro swimming lesson to find it had been cancelled and no-one had let us know  V annoyed as there are only about 5 in the class. The staff at the pool are not the brightest.

    Have a productive day everyone.

    Morning peeps

very cold here this morning with lots of snow, it has been snowing all night and is still at it now, the forecast said snow on and off all day when i looked yesterday so i shall have a look and see if anything has changed this morning.

Today is my day off :D i shall be scrubbing the upstairs and catching up with some ironing which is too rumpled to use otherwise and then finishing off the steak and kidney pudding that i started off yesterday. We had to go out quite late so it was too late to be faffing around by the time that we got home so we shall have that for tea tonight.

I shall be off out with the houndies soon so i shall get wrapped up well and i may need milk so i shall have a look around in the fridge and freezer before i go as i`m not going all the way down the hill to the shops without absolutely having to - i might not get back up it :rotfl:

Right i need to make a start so i shall say good morning to you all.

Have a good day peeps and remember to keep safe and warm ((HUGS))

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

Morning all :) I hope you are all well :)

Jc and Rachel - huge hugs for both of you ((hug))
sunnygirl - sorry your MiL isn't good :(
Diva - have a good evening :) Cake does sound very good :)
ivyleaf - thank you for the peeler recommendation - I had a look on the online and I think it will suit my possible grip positions so I will go ahead and order today :)
Hester - glad you can hear again :)

It's freezing here too - we have pretty ice trees but no snow as yet.

    I am shattered.

My father had his work van stolen. He is a self employed franchise holder :( Some people are just low-lifes - it's a marked company van with his damn details plastered all over it and he can't work without it or the stuff in it. I am so cross. My parents didn't tell me for a few days because they didn't want to worry me. :( It's been recovered intact though - and they hadn't got to the tools and stock in the back - which is a blessing, but it's still being held by the scenes of crime officers so he can't work. He works so hard and stuff like this shouldn't happen  I want to do something to cheer them up, so I'm looking at sending them to the theatre this weekend - but I have to get in contact with my sister first to make sure she doesn't dump her child on them like she normally does.

My friend was in her viva for 4 hrs. That's insane - but she passed with minor corrections. Relief :)

OHs divorce was a mixed blessing. I was "deemed served" which I am so angry about - so even though I heard nothing and recieved nothing I will be named on this damn paperwork and given no chance to defend myself. It was very important to me not to be, so I am a little upset over it. However, she did get very harsh words from the judge who has given her a date to apply for decree nisi - and stated if she doesn't apply by then she will be liable for all of OH's costs since 2008 and will have her petition dismissed. She is to pay her own costs regardless, whcih she was really angry about as she was expecting to get them all back. So the end is nigh at least. I'm trying not to be annoyed. I will calm down in a couple of days I'm sure when the logic kicks in and I understand that entering into an expensive war of attrition is a pointless exercise. At the moment I am not seeing exactly why I should keep the crazy on the inside when the crazy knows best :D:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I did roast pork last night - on account of being home from work a bit earlier, but I shouldn't have done something so ambitious (even with OH on veg peeling duty :rotfl:) as I'd been hyper and vomiting through stress for most of the day. My hands are still strapped and sore and I ache on account of not sleeping at all last night. It will be an early one today I think - quite hard because we have a new person starting yesterday - he's lovely and I've known him a while, but it always takes a bit of time to settle new people down here as they tend to sweat the small stuff more than we do - but I won't make it past 5 pm. I held it together quite well yesterday given everything and now I need a rest :)

I am supposed to be taking my friend out for lunch today as I missed her exam celebration yesterday, so I probably won't cook tonight as I won't really want anything if I eat a hot meal at lunch time.

Have a good day all, celx

    Good morning,

My house looks like a bomb has hit it and I can't find Grumpy's lunch box anywhere. Maybe we left it in school in which case I will need to go and buy him another one. I won't be going today as we have snow. Strange because my friend and I looked at the sky etc last night and decided it would probably snow, but it wasn't on the BBc weather forecast at all. I need to stop looking at that site, becasue it's never right.

I'm off to start the great tidy up....and I have an appointment at 10am with a solicitor to make a will. Now there's only me it's quite important that Grumpy should be properly accounted for if anything goes wrong.

    Take care all of you.
  • Hi Guys!

    Thanks for the lovely messages.

DD was back to school this morning. OH took her at 7.30 which seemed so early as we've been getting up later through the holidays. Nurse was here at 8am and I am due a flu jab, but have a cold atm, so she couldnt do it. I am also booked in for a Swine Flu jab with OH Saturday...is this usual:confused:

Jackie0-We have had isses with the BB before. The fact that we have a BB and a wheelchair sticker in the window etc etc doesnt work until they see OH getting the wheelchair out. Some people are just small minded and think that only people who have no limbs are allowed a BB. I find the older people the rudest.

Anyway, stew in the SC for today. I am resting up.

Take care and hugs to all.

    PP
