Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.

Jackie - I hope the visit to the oncologist went well, and that they found a vein without too much hassle.
SunnyGirl -
Thoughts and prayers with you.
Essex-girl - hope your OH feels better and that you get an appt with the Dr soon.
Bitsy - Thank you, but it was my own fault, so no sympathy needed.
Hilstep - Glad your father is doing better but I would have been just as angry if it had been my dad discharging himself too
Jc and Rachel - I am so sorry, will keep sending positive vibes for you and your sons.
Lamewolf - sorry to hear your hands are so painful at the moment.
Halight - It was very delicious thanks, and stuffed full of veg. Plenty left for another big meal for my OH and I, plus enough I hope for a couple of pasties.
Marie - Sorry, what is INR?
Used the slow cooker yesterday and made a lovely casserole with a very cheap piece of beef. Used lots of home grown veg and threw in 3 toms that were a bit past their best in the fridge and 5 hrs later it was really delicious. We served it with baked potatoes. We then followed it with bananas and custard as we had three bananas on the turn and my OH loves it! That now makes 3 NSD in a row which is an achievement for us!
It seems the icy weather has finally hit the South West. Lots of reports of 'shunts' on some of the roads the gritters don't get to. No snow of course, just ice that sticks around all day. Was definitely hot water bottle weather last night when I went to bed.
Today I am baking a birthday cake - lemon sponge with butter cream and a lemon zest icing. D and her OH are coming down for the evening. We shall probably end up playing raucous board games all night and I am really looking forward to it.
I hope your day today is the best it can be for everyone, and that those under the weather feel better
. With love and light to all.

Diva the cake sounds devine, i can cook but cannot bake for the life of me :rotfl:
I woke up about an hour ago and noticed it was snowing so have just been sat wrapped in a blanket watching it fall.
I love the snow and the kids are so hoping for enough to build a snowman with, it looks on course for that today :T
Am about to put a joint of brisket in the slowcooker for dinner tonight, there is nothing like a joint of beef and a mountain of creamy mash when the weather is like thisI will save my tesco £1 savings stamps this year! .......so far = £50 (full card#1)
Card #2 £6. I will not be skint at Chistmas this year!

Good Morning All! Woke up early today so WM is busy working away as I type and a load of ironing is shouting to me every time I pass the cupboard. Amazing how fast it builds up, isn't it?
Very cold and icy here - thought it had snowed when I let the dog into the garden, but just an extremly heavy frost.
Need to be busy today, and have a meeting to slot in later this morning. I hope not too many have spent the wee small hours worrying - I always feel things seem much worse then. Hope to get back later to read all your news. ((HUGS)) to any feeling unwell, anxious or depressed today.
Take careResolution:

Ffffreeezing here but no snow - imagine its icy out there though. DD back at school today :jthough DS not, will keep checking the school website - fingers crossed the heating is fixed today.
Loads of office work to be done, waiting till everyone is back at school/work before I really start cleaning the house.
Might have to go out and drop off a lorry, will take a large chunk out of my day but needs must.
So not too much os today, have warm chicken salad for dinner, chicken is featuring quite heavily nowdays.
Have a good day, (((hugs))) wherever needed.x0 -
Morning everyone! I probably won't be doing much today....I'm just waiting to go home off my night shift so the morning will be spent sleeping!! I have a parcel I need to pick up from my parents so I might go get that once I get up, its my bargains from the lakeland sale....very excited! I also need to take down my christmas decorations but I really hate how bare the house looks when they first come down!! Tea will be HM chilli from the freezer with salad and a jacket potato or some rice. Actually might have to have veg instead of salad, I've run out and I can't be bothered to go buy more!!0

Morning All
Bit of a snow flurry as I went to bed last night which has then frozen so it looks a bit dodgy out in the square this morning and I'm back at work today, DS-S and DS-D got sent home from school yesterday as the school was so cold so I'm not sure whether they are in today or not.
I know its not very OS but we left the heating on low all night and the doors slightly open to let the heat around the house. The difference was incredible this morning - I just turned the heating off as I came down it was lovely and toasty!
Lunch for me will be sandwiches taken to work (ham & mustard) and I have some braised mince for tea and I'm going to go and peel some potatoes to go with it.
DD is in fog horn mode this morning and has been since she woke before 6 - amazing how one small child can be so bl00min loud!
Yesterday is still hanging over my mood but i'm trying not to think about it - I can't change anything and the time to panic could be a long way off yet. I do want to sincerely thank everyone who offered their words of support yesterday they were very gratefully received.
Hope everyone has a good day

Morning all
I'm off to work soon, it's an inset day, so it will be quiet, but not peaceful, I normally go in for a couple of days but was told not to, so the staff will be baying for blood, or at least photocopying.
WM & DW both on, hubby will empty them for me later. I'm still coughing, but at the moment my ears don't hurt & I can hear, that probably because of the amount of gunk that dribbled out last night, yukky.
Pork Chops for tea tonight for hubby, not sure what I'll have, I may get a free lunch in which case I won't want much tea.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning everyone from a VERY snowy & freezing cold Manchester
I have the local radio on to see if the school or college is closed today. I hope not as DS2 & DS3 only went back yesterday and DD & DS1 are due back today  We'll see. It is very deep, when I let the dogs out first thing it came half way up the legs of the Labrador and was tickling her tummy :rotfl: The Beagle was wading through it!
MIL still not good the staff have increased her morphine now so she's mostly sleeping. We're all still visiting and keeping our phones on us at all times. My SIL works in the centre of Manchester & has had to go back to work and will need an hour and a half to get back so she's particularly worried. I'm being the unofficial liaison person at the moment between the staff at the care home and the rest of the family.
Lunch today is cheese scones & soup and tea tonight is either omlettes, egg on toast, beans on toast or something equally quick to do.
Got some more cleaning & decluttering to do in our bedroom today and the usual rounds of washing, drying & ironing.
Hugs to anyone who needs one & stay safe & warm xx0 -
Morning all,
Fffffrrreeezzing here too, sharp frost here again, OH is going out in a while to clean the ice off my car, bless him. He has been told not to go in to work today, as they have no inside work, and its just too cold to be outside all day, not sure if he will get paid though
Today will be the never ending cleaning and packing of boxes, I am a very mimimal person, who does not like clutter, but I still have sooooooo much stuff , am sitting here in the lounge, surrounded, by boxes, and the conservatory os full to the top, roll on Monday
Dinner tonight will be jacket spuds, I have taken a veggi chilli out for dd to have in hears, OH and I will have fridge suprise with ours
Little dog is still in bed, she does not like these cold mornings, and dd is getting ready for her first day back :T
Mummysaver, must try and catch you for a chat on FB, hope you are ok xx
Hugs to all in need, have fun all xx0 -
Morning :hello:
Freezin here as well, no snow yet but very frosty and crunchy underfoot and the car will need scrapping off as usual, OH will do that
Off to Mums with the shopping later, rather not be going anywhere really but needs must:rolleyes:
Will have Porridge for brekkie
sarnie for lunch or maybe cheese on toast.... yep that sounds better
Dinner braised beef in the SC with loads of veg.
DIL made me a bread pudding and bought it up when they came for New Year, amazingly there is still some left, only because I froze it to keep it away from OH :rotfl:otherwise he would have eaten the lot. So we will have some of that for pud.
Havent been on line much lately and I am really early today, for me anyway. I woke at 4am and I just could'nt get back to sleep so thought I may as well get up.
Hope you are all well and keeping warm, talking of keeping warm I bought my DGD's a couple of little vests with short sleeves in as stocking fillers and they love them, so weather permitting later in the week, I will pop back to Primark and get them another couple each.
better go do something I suppose, not that I feel like doing anything at the mo.....getting showered and dressed would be a start I suppose;)
Have good days all, wrap up warm and be careful if you do go out
Anne
