You need a drivers side wing mirror and either a rear view mirror OR a passenger side wing mirror, not both (though if both are fitted they must work)

    .

Double PEDANT, no vehicle has been fitted with " wing " mirrors for at least the last twenty years.

They have door mirrors nowadays.. :D

Not a huge amount. Many of these things are subjective or "in the opinion of the tester" depending on how much it's blowing it may be overlooked, get you an advisory or may fail. I find that having a good relationship with the garage that does the test works wonders. ;)

Triple pedant. There are a few big 4x4s, even today, that have a wing mirror on the passenger side to aid parking. Though I suspect they dont count for MOT purposes.

This is not correct for all vehicles. It depends on the age of the vehicle and what was originally fitted by the manufacturer.

I seen someone with a fully fledged meter high snowman on the roof of their car last night, made me chuckle when I thought of all the angry people on this thread :p:rotfl:

Some bikers make moves that can seem a bit risky. However, what may seem risky from a car is not necessarily risky on a far more nimble machine than a car. Riding without a helmet on is also illegal (and stupid) but most people who ride like that aren't bikers. And on the point of leathers, there is a wide range of biker gear available that isn't leather, and from a distance looks just like regular jeans or combat trousers and a sport jacket. I don't expect you to know that they're actually fully tested and certified safety clothing, with impact armour on the elbows, knees, shoulders, back and hip, triple layering, kevlar panels etc. Believe me, not wearing leathers doesn't make someone a bad biker, it just means they've left the 60's :)

I apologise I didn't really explain myself properly.

I realise "leathers" are not always leather lol....they can be denim etc like you have pointed out...however, boys (and I mean boys!) wearing the sporty long shorts, short sleeved tops and trainers are not wearing appropriate clothing for bikes, I'm sure you will agree, I wouldn't call them bikers either. I see too may kids (Im sounding like an old fart now lol) who are really careless on bikes, I just don't understand why they don't realise they can have fun on bikes and be safe ...anyway...detracting from the original thread now.
