Ivyleaf.... I lent my machine to my grand daughter as she was taking textiles as a GCSE subject, she has had it for 2 years and doubt that it has been cleaned since I took it to her. The case is a bit of a mess....

I will have it on the operating table tomorrow afternoon and go to work with the cotton buds and a soft brush, with out a doubt the bobbin case will be full of lint from the thread and fabric. She has made a prom dress in blue slub satin. I must say she has made a good job of it...it looks very pretty....she used the embroidery patterns on the machine to embroider round the top and hem of the dress and has hand sewn bugle beads on. She better had get a credit!!!

Just had our supper, the casserole was lovely and the plum and apple crumble went down very well. I have not costed out what it actually cost for our meal but I think it would come in under the £1 per person......egg and chips tomorrow so that will come in under £1, Beef stew for Wednesday, I have taken the beef out to defrost so I can cook it tomorrow. I like to leave it 24 hours for the flavour to develop.
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

    Evening

JC and Rachel ((((Hugs)))) How awful having that hanging over you, my thoughts are with you both

SG thoughts and prayers still with you and yours.

Lamewolf sorry to hear your hands are so bad. My Hubbie has Vibration White Finger in both hands and is really suffering in this weather, he is a diesel fitter and so needs to use his hands for fiddly jobs but he is getting worse each year, I suppose it is only a matter of time before he can't do his job anymore.:rolleyes:

Have been back at work again today and anyone would think that we had been closed a week instead of just one day - it was mega busy. Was so glad that I had made the pan of corned beef hash yest for today. It was lovely and there is plenty left either for tomorrow or to freeze for another night. I will ask OH which he wants to do:D

Have been practising crocheting from the new magazine I got yest and think I have got the hang of the basic stitches now - I used to be able to do this years ago but have totally forgotten how. Want to make a baby blanket for a friends son who has just announced they are expecting (if I start now I might just be able to do it in time lol:rotfl:)

Anyway have a good evening all

Don't seem to be managing to post much at the moment. Life has been such a muddle with the holidays. DH went back to work today. DD took me to physio this morning and then I delivered her to station later on, as she's visiting (ex boy)friend at his uni for a couple of days. I like that they're still friends. When she gets back she will be in work for the rest of the week. DS is back in school tomorrow. I am back in work for my very few hours per week this week.

Hope to have time and inclination to get on with getting the house straight again. It was pristine before we had the christmas stuff out and visitors. Also had a big batch of sewing to do, which took some time to sort. I have some more sewing to do, dd's dance costume needs sorting out.

Just looking at the food budget. Need to do a freezer audit. Need to look in on Flylady as well I think!

    Evening everyone

Sorry only just managed to read through all the thread.

JC & Rachel - thinking of you both, This is happening to a my sons friend and he has never been in trouble before.

Sunnygirl - thoughts and prayers for you and your family.

Went to the drs this morning and she has signed me off for 4 weeks so i can look after ds2, we are back at the consultant on 14 Jan so will know more then re taking the pins out of his leg. I am still trying to get his home tuition sorted, he has been off school since 16 November and if it wasnt for his teaching assistant coming round most days to do an hour with him he wouldn't have had anything. However if I kept him off school for that long I would have been in trouble!

Not much o/s today. Tea was tuna pasta. cleaned kitchen and thats about it.

Had a major argument with ds1(19) who was very abusive, told him that i was fed of his attitude and didnt need to put up with it. Anyway he has gone to stop at his friends for tonight as I told him he couldn't stay here. I will speak to him again tomorrow.

Hugs to anyone that needs or wants one.

    Take Care

Hugs to jc and Rachel and anyone else who is having a bad time for any reason.

The cold here just seems to get worse, we are to have more snow over the next couple of days I think and there seems to be no sign of an end to the treacherous roads...did a mainly vegetable shop to-day so we are all set for a week or more....there is tinned fruit and veg too and lots of pulses so I don't think we'll starve.

Dinner to-night was pork chops with onions, roast potatoes, carrots and parsnips and mashed swede...was lovely.

Did another wash to-day but will leave it until to-morrow to hang up as stuff I have out is not quite dry.

Oh's INR was way down this morning so he has to go back on Thursday morning.

    Sleep well all

    Marie
