Thanks for your comments re DS1. He has gone off to college rather unhappily. He is unhappy at the moment because he doesn't know what is happening about his job. Hopefully he will feel better tomorrow after his interview. At least he will know either way.
I've been out to Post Office to send off some returns and its minus 2 in the sunshine. Im back now and happy to be home.
JC - hope all went well at court xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Donny-Gal - your appointment tomorrow sounds a bit like Ten Years Younger:rotfl::D did you mention a tummy tuck too?:D
hope it all works out for you xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Urgh - not a good morning
Met our Barrister. Nice man - not so nice outlook. He thinks the prosecution must have 'something major' to have gone ahead with the charge. Anyway adjourned for 3 weeks at which point they will set a date for trial. He told us that in novemeber a 17 year old (same as DS2) had a fight in mcd's car park (sames as DS2) and had the same charge as DS and no previous convictions (same as DS2)....got 18 month custodial sentence _pale_

Afternoon all,
JC2703 - :hello:from Belfast - hope everything goes ok in court
It's freezing here - ds2's school is closed as we discovered when we got there:rolleyes: - no water so he came into work with me - which was freezing as well - no heating on for 2 weeks. I left at 12 and will make up time tomorrow when there are more people in and it's warmer. Came home and the house was registering 13C - so the heating has gone on.
Really glad the kids had soup in packed lunch today - will try to make some for each day this week if it's going to be this cold. Ds1 normally has hockey on Mon evenings - but I suspect the astroturf will be frozen - it's still below zero here.
I got a big piece of pork shoulder reduced to £3.20 last night - we had it roasted last night, think I'll make a curry tonight. Also need to do bread, soda farls and might make an apple braid - having looked at the adventures in dough thread again - so thanks for the inspiration for a cold day to Thriftlady and DD&D. Off to start Flylady in a mo (and to take some tabs for the cold). Skyped dh who is in China ATM - cold there too and no heating in the hotel room:eek: - only a/c so he's wearing a jumper under the duvet - although he says he's ok.
Have a good afternoon
Edited to say: Cross posted with JC - ((((((hugs))))))“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

Halight - we are having a shin of beef casserole today, possibly in the slow cooker but not sure yet. Will be chopping lots of lovely vegetables to go in it later. May add a chilli - our HG ones are lethal.. tiny but really pack a punch!
Remmie - so you didn't use the phrase ' You missed a bit' at all then.. :rotfl::rotfl:I think tea and supportive words are worth a lot when it comes to OHs and DIY!

I HAOPE THAT YOU ENJOY YOUR CASSEROLE DIVA,:T:T

Arternoon..............back from DD2's with the sewing machine, looks as though its going to need a thorough going over judgung from the state of the case!!! It can wait till tomorrow.
We too are on a challenge to iuse up stuff thats in the garage freezer, we have loads of french and climbing beans, tomato's and fruit. I am about to fetch out some plums and peel some apples to make an apple and plum crumble, it will last a few days, 3 at least.
I did the breast of lamb bones in the pressure cooker, with the soup mix, onion, carrot and leek, shoved in some garlic and cooked it for 20 minutes. Took the meat off the bones and chopped it up, added it back into the pan with some water the thin the soup out a bit, a big bowl full each with some toast for lunch, scrummy.
Supper tonight, sausage casserole with mixed beans from the freezer, spuds, carrot and cabbage, one of the last from the allotment......we still have brussels on there will have to try and get over to get some more, have about enough for one meal left of the ones we picked just before Christmas.
Its still bright and sunny, but very cold, the roads round where DD lives were like skating rinks......we stuck mostly to the main roads where we could. Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

HUGS to you JC
My OH is answering bail on the 12th of Feb for clouting a lad that had laid his hands on his sister, he's been told he could get an 18 month custodial sentance too. The thought of loosing him for that long makes me feel sick. I'm just trying to get on as normal as there is no point in me being upset about it. It'll just make things worse
Back to the grind today but its kind of nice to get back to normal.
Made a lovely lentil and gammon soup yesterday in the slow cooker so I had some for dinner. Think were having raviolli tonight not sure though thats up to OH0
