Morning all! OMG, what's the Wolf doing online at this time of day?:D Been outside to defrost the birds' lollipop, that's what!;)

I've taken the plunge and joined the Flylady thread. Don't know how well I'll get on, but it'll be an interesting experiment.

jc - best of luck with court. Try not to worry too much. (Yeah, I know, easy for me to say).

Hoping that Tris and SG's MIL both have a comfortable and peaceful day.

Time for a caffeinated drink before I do anything else, methinks.;)

    Morning all,

Very cold here again today brrrr, dd is off in an inset day , so its the last day before reality sets in.

I have one load in the wm, and another to go in, I will hang both on the line, as even though its freezing it seems to dry off a bit.

Today dd and I need to give the lounge and kitchen a complete clean, then we are all done with the deep cleaning, and will just have to swish and swipe when we go.

Pasta and garlic bread for tea tonight, as we ended up having an Indian delivered last night :D, it was delish.

Taplady i hope it all works out for your ds and his partner xx

Jackie, good luck for today xx

    Sunny, thinking of you xx

Jackie G hope you get your heating sorted soon brrrr xx

Jc2703, good luck for today xx

    Have good days all xx

Im debating what to do re my DS1. he is still in bed and needs to get to college. I have called him twice. Think he might not go back to college - I was getting vibes last night!
Hi Molly a dilema I know, but my rules were simple, you either studied or worked, and if you didn't have a job which earned money, then you earned your keep by working at home. I would have gone up and told my son to get up, that if he was not going to college I had plenty of work for him to do for me, but he was not staying in bed stinking. :rotfl: I have to admit I never had to put this into practice as I laid down the rules simply when he was 14-15 and he know I keep threats and promises.

Morning everyone, got my got up and go head on today will have breakfast in a mo no DH has emerged from our pit (he needs more sleep than I do and I get my "me" time on here while he sleeps;)) We are going to town via doctors or repeat prescriptions, and Asda to take some things back. Tomorrow I actually have the appointment with the Plastic Surgery unit for this lump on my forehead (wonder if they may consider an eye lift, double chin removal, and tummy tuck as compensation for my being messed around:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::o) Still not sure if I will go ahead with anything, but will talk to them first.

All hotels are booked for my trip, having a couple of days in London and going to see We will Rock You, and a meal with DS's GF's parents, then crossing Sunday Night, and having 3 nights in hotels in France as we go down, and we can then reach our house from the French border in a long days drive. Managed to get two nights for the price of one at at nice Holiday Inn in London, and Campanile at its lowers sisters rates for France (we normally stay in the lower sisters Premiere Classe). Worked out routes, last night, we try to avoid autoroutes, but there are one or two short spells when the smaller roads take a lot more time, so will pop on the tolls roads for those, Usually just the drive from Dunkerque to Poitiers. Also sorting out and booking the caravan rallies for when we return, we are out with the 'van the weekend after we return :o:T:j. Picking up a electric blanket in th Argos clearance sale today, as we have a fixed bed in the new 'van, and this will let us air the bed quickly on the drive before we go away. May also invest in a couple of hot water bottles from £land, for when not on electric. Also want to look for bedding for it while in town. Still have a load of paperwork to scan and sort, and we go a week on Friday :eek::j:beer::rotfl::T:A.

DH took all the Christmas stuff down yesterday and put it in the loft, while I cleared the ironing:A. Jut going to put hte washer on again now though so we can put some bedding out while we go to town as the sun is shining, v. cold though. We had a roast dinner yesterday using up leftovers, today there is some sausage for DH and fish pie I froze from one made Boxing Day. I am determined that we will be using up until we go.

Fingers crossed for your hospital visit Jackie

  • Hi all
Me again, I've just suffered yet another herb & spice avalanche & just wondered what other MSE'rs do with their spices. Mine sit on a shelf 7 spices deep & 3 herbs high (yes I know I have a lot of spices, but I do use them all) I don't have any more free shelf space & so I'm looking for a cheap way of storing them, any suggestions?

  • I cleared out a drawer next to my cooker, and keep them all in there. No falling over, easy to reach. Perfect for me.

    Good morning guys,

another one here with an inset day - as if the holidays weren't long enough!

You know those plans to start saving for the windows? I'm not even in to the first week of this year and DS is in need of a laptop as his died before xmas. The quandry has been whether or not to replace it and if so with what. He has driven me to distraction wanting to use mine (big no - no ;)) and asking me to check out his Habbo and look for stuff on the net regarding dr who and games etc. So I spent yesterday investigating. I finally settled on a mini from Dell with the direst warnings that if he doesn't look after it he will be footing the bill for any repairs and it will not be replaced if broken. It's his birthday on the 19th so that's that sorted out indirectly.

Todays plans are - not a lot really :D, the house just needs a wizz through, there isn't enough for a wash, cheques and lunchbags to sort out later and prep something for the SC whilst I am at work tomorrow. I have defrosted a chicken for tea (salad for me, chips for them) and we will have beans on toast for lunch.

Gentle hugs to anyone in need today and keep warm and safe everyone. (-7 when I got up this morning brrrrrrrr!!!)

Have at last managed to get myself dressed and downstairs !

Beds have been stripped and remade - now have a pile of sheets to wash which is a nightmare since my tumbledryer broke down. Suppose that's money saving though but it's my luxury. Arrrrgghhh.

Got lots of potatoes to use up so going to make some vegetable soup today for lunch. Also have peppers to use, so I think I will roast them and pop them into a tin of tuna for a topping for baked potatoes tonight.

Streets here are awful with snow so won't be going anywhere !

Now - must go and feed the kids their breakfast - lol !
So little money - so much time
