Unfortunately this is more common than you may think... It seems to be something some girls do and it isn't necessarily fuelled by abuse or anything as sinister as that.
It's one of the reasons I never let mine have their own computer at that age.
I don't think the police will act on it tbh, unless they fear there is something else going on.
The school should though, and I hope they will.
I just hope her family is supportive and work with her to get through this - she's in for a rough time at school and could really do with them on her side imo.0 -

Should you be arrested for providing evidence of your concern / the crime and for asking that someone steps in, please provide this thread as evidence of your intention to ensure proof was available. You have nothing to be ashamed nor worried about - you are making sure this child is as protected in the same way you hope someone else would act swiftly, if it was your child at risk.
At the very least, I promise to be first to sign the petition to free the MSE 1:D
i know its a small possibility that an arrest could take place but why risk this?, surely the most safeway of guarding yourself is to report it without downloading / printing the image - let the safeguarding team do it!
OP, i know the girl may have done this herself - but right now she is extreemly vulnerable, and is very much at risk. as a parent myself, i would want to know if my daughter has done this, and would thank you til forever more if you brought it to my attention.
did you get through to the school ?Give blood - its free0 -
Report it on FB and to the school. Then its up to the school and the girl's parents.
My younger sister once posted what i deemed inappropriate pics on Bebo but swiftly took them down when i threatened to tell our parents. So hopefully she'll get the message that this kind of behaviour is unacceptable and wrong for a girl her age. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I would print it off. No hesitation.
I would be concerned about people deleting their comments/denying they'd done it etc.
I would take the risk (highly unlikely imo) of being arrested if I thought it would make a difference in a situation like this.
I have 2 teenage girls and hope that any other caring mother/father in this kind of situation would do the same thing if it were my girls involved.Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
oh honestly, when my son was photographed and the culprits threatened to stick the photos on facebook the police told me that if there was any sign of this happening to print out the evidence and get in touch.
Shell - call the duty desk at your local social services and take their advice, that way you can't be criticised, the phone line will be open 24/7Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

I feel so sorry for that silly girl. Fancy having to return to school today knowing that everyone has seen those images and has been making nasty comments. That is the sort of thing that NEVER gets forgotten. How miserable must she feel? Glad you reported it to school, let's hope they do all that they can to limit the damage.0

Shell as uncomfortable as you feel about printing it off - I would too, I would do it though to take into the school and let it be known that the poor girl is being bullied through no fault of her own - for all we know, a girlfriend could have taken the pictures innocently and this nasty girl has just twisted it and put it on facebook.
I would be more concerned about the bullying - calling a 13/14 year old girl a slag is outrageous (but typical of the age group) and sadly, mud sticks
The proof is there on that page that there is a bully - and hopefully it is HER who is dragged into the school and HER parents know what she is upto.:cool:0
