We were meant to be emptied yesterday but apparently they are doing bins tomorrow.. I have loads and loads of recycling!

I simply cannot comprehend schools being closed because of snow.. Thankfully as far as I am aware unless there are dead boilers and burst pipes all the schools here are open.. as they jolly well should be!
me neither they never were when I was a kid but as DH pointed out, round here at least a lot of teachers travel a long way to work so like the rest of us can't get in cos of transport!

    SSL
    - recycling is driving me bonkers too. I don't put mine out if they are not coming but some people have left their's out for weeks now. I tried to take some to the bottle bank last week but it was overflowing. Our website says they are not coming.
Phone the council, or your councillor. I got in touch with mine last year and now have a senior officer's phone number so he sorts out any problems I have! ;)

Must work...think I will move into the study as a) it's warmer and b) more chance of getting on!

FFP - I noticed when I nipped in earlier than Sainsburys have dysons on offer

    Happy birthday Greenbee xx

Lala - big hugs to you and remember 'baby steps'. You can only do one email at a time so try not to think of the bigger picture. Chunk it down to manageable pieces even if that is literally one email. Hug xx

Helen J - sending you hugs and 'get it sorted' vibes. I know just what you mean when you say you just want to know what it is. The not knowing is horrible. More hugs to you xx

I've now got 6 children (including my two) as parents have gone to work. I was going to have 9 but some parents decided not to bother. Two are being picked up at 12. I'm going to take them to the park to knacker them out.

    So far i've;
    COMPLETED THE MONDAY LIST

I've also, done recycling, filled bird feeders, put washing load on. That's it for now.

    Have a good day xx

I cant even see my boxes  I think once I'm dressed, I will commence Operation Snowpatrol  I will dig until I find them ;) I cant blame the council. They are struggling to keep the main roads clear at the moment and are being hampered by people like my neighbours who have decided to park up on the main road rather than in their driveways. I'm assuming my neighbours are doing this to make life easier for themselves, but the cars and vans are still parked there  so what was the point in that? The snow ploughs and gritters cant get past them so the buses cant come here. Some people are just so thoughtful...

    Right, shower time

The coal I ordered on Monday arrived this morning :j A big :T to my coal man.
DH tried to go to work this morning, but when the snowplough/gritter lorry came down the hill backwards he decided it would be prudent to come back home. He had already made one failed attempt up the hill when the snow plough arrived.
All of the kids schools and colleges are closed, as well as DD2 nursery where she works, only two members of staff could get in!

DD1 came into my room this morning and said 'you've moved your bed' ! No - I moved the clutter!!! Made yesterday worthwhile! Will go and finish the job now and then do todays. Everyone home today, so will try and get the girls to tackle their bedroom too ;-).

Happy Bday Greenbee - Fab day to have a birthday!
Thanks :D and congratulations on the progress you've made on your bedroom. Once you start to see the difference it's a real motivator. Just make sure that you put the stuff you're getting rid of somewhere where it'll be dealt with as soon as you can get out! Mine's in the boot of my car (under a snowdrift )

excellent advice. My rule with emails is flag, file or delete. I always aim to have less than 25 in my inbox, and use it like a to do list. It's hard when you've been away but as greenbee says there will be lots that can just be deleted as they will be replies to the same thing.
25 email in your inbox :T:T I am for under 300 :o but in the old job that was less than a day's email - maybe I should try for 25 in the new job as I don't get nearly as many (and lots of them seem to be chat/discussions which should be read and digested as and when they turn up)

That's very kind of you - I hope they appreciate it! Hope you manage to wear out them and stripes out quickly... and that you feel better soon. Can you make them all do some flying for you?

I'm now washed, moisturised and dressed in LOTS of layers. Need to keep checking the fire and find a jug of water. Think I'm going to put the WM on a cleaning wash too. I'm managing without the heating at the moment, but think I'll probably need it on around lunchtime. I haven't managed a walk this morning (although 800 steps round the house isn't too bad) so will try to go out to the post box @ 3ish after my team meeting. Hopefully I'll have finished my thank you letters by then and can get them posted!
