Morning everyone
Greenbee - Happy Birthday
Snow here so all has ground to a haly cos of 2 inches - most annoyed as I can't get to the hospital although having said that I am gonna try. Schools are shut so I'll take kiddies to Mum then try to get to work then pick up kiddies and try to get to the hospital but I'm only gonna try - if the roads are bad I'll turn round straight away and get home cos I'm no hero.
DH has had a bad night and spent it pacing the corridors of the hospital, fingers crossed for results this morning. I don't mind too much about what it is as we can deal with the news its the not knowing I can't take
DD is delighted that school is shut DS is still in bed
Be safe everyone, have fun in the snow with the kiddies cos these are the memories they'll remember for ever - we're going for a walk if I can't get out and will build a snowman [will do all these later if I can get out]

Morning Everyone!
Err....think the Met office are fighting a losing battle! Everytime I log on theres a different forecast! I return to work today following my long term sick and am supposed to be going into the office for a few hours - not sure its such a good idea to travel there. At least I've got the set up to work from home so might log on here and plough through the 100's of emails waiting for me! I'm worried that it will overwhelm me with jobs that I will need to do just to catch up with now! Typing this now and getting more and more anxious - really don't think I can do this. No, I'll be positive, I won't know until I try will I? I just know I can't get to the stage I was at before and am scared of that I suppose.
((Hugs)) Hun - Log in from home, set a timer and do 30 minutes at a time, then walk away for a break each time. Remember baby step, baby steps..
MoamAlthough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.
Snowball says too far away, working hard to bring it forward.0 -

Go through the email from the NEWEST - old stuff will either have been dealt with or not be urgent/have been forgotten - and start listing stuff and filing it, as you will probably have multiple emails on the same topic. Then talk through the list with your boss to check what has been picked up by others and what hasn't. Suggest you deal with the new stuff first, and then when you're back in the swing of things, arrange handovers where appropriate for the other stuff. Also highlight any of the new stuff that you don't feel you can deal with at the moment as you're not up to speed on various things - pick simple things to start with.
Your boss should appreciate you having a plan! Suggest that you speak daily for the next couple of weeks, just to make sure you're keeping up, and if it gets too bad, ask for a phased return with a reduced workload in proportion.
Whatever you do, DON'T get panicked about it. You did it before, and can do it again0 -
Good morning everyone  We had more snow late yesterday, but the roads look pretty clear(plough through overnight
). DS's schoolis closed again today, so I'm leaving both children in bed (with a list f jobs :j ) and will call them later.
Greenbee - glad to see you posting - I was concerned for you when I heard the forecast this morning

Don't worry... I don't go into the office if I can help it anyway... which unfortunately means I have to work as usual rather than claiming a snow day . I really am off to make breakfast this time, as I want to go for a walk before it starts snowing again, and I have to do some work (1 client call, 1 client email and 1 team meeting today, plus prep for a call tomorrow). Oh... and I suppose I should check the local weather and news... hope SIL is OK after her night in the office!0 -
Happy Birthday greenbee - enjoy your day at home!
Right, I'm showered - hair is greasy as don't have time to dry it and don't want to go out with it even damp. Woke DH as I'd forgotten to put knickers out when I put my clothes for today out last night. He hates snow so I'm going to make up my flask and get out of his way before he gets up grumpy!!!
Will leave work at the first sign of it getting worse.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Boys are awake and planning who's going to throw snow balls at who. Better feed them i suppose then we're getting dressed and going to get out in the garden.0

Morning all
School closed, still snowing, kids have been warned after 2 weeks holiday they will not be on the playstation or watching much tv. Big ones can revise/catchup on homework and little one can help me sort the cupboard in the family room. Mean but best for them I think especially as DS1 has 2 exam modules this month
Piggers - forgot to say well done to your DD - were they mocks/modules/full results?
Greenbee - Happy Snowy Birthday - have you had a snowy one before?not scared of you two weirdos:p:p:p:p
I'm not either when I'm standing behind JinkyDitto, was awoken at 4am by our cat this morning scratching to go out...
We let ours free-range last night and Queen Victoria was a right royal pain, kept jumping on the bed and purring, she will be confined in the throne room tonight
Just going to check the council website to see if they will collect recycling - they haven't for the past month so I doubt it. Then off to unload the DW and WM.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0
