    Good morning all -

LO stayed over at his friends last night so I slept until 10am!!!! Which was great especially since I was up late, but normally LO would have had me up at 6.30/7.00!

I have done HH on the wii fit this morning and had a cup of tea with my neighbour who popped in.

Am off to do HHC in the kitchen to tidy up a bit. Anyone care to join me??

Morning all -well it still feels as if it is

Have manged a trek down to aldi today to get essentials for this week - only NO MILK and that was at 11 - they'd only been open an hour. Still I have 1 in the freezer. Really pleased as I only spent £16, if it had been a usual weekend and I'd taken the car to either there or Mr T it would have been anywhere between £40 and £80. So if you want to keep your grocery shopping down - WALK :D

DD still wants to go into town to get something for DH's birthday tomorrow. I havent even got a card but really cant be bothered. I will get him one and a pressie but I think after the effort he made with my Christmas Pressie ..................

Any tips gratefully received! I like Bridgedale socks too, and definitely need some thicker ones. I also need to think about thinner base layers - and decent jackets, as my midweight jacket is OK (but getting old... needs a wash and re-proof) but I don't have a lightweight one and am currently using an ancient (and very ugly!) ski jacket. Otherwise I just have a very, very elderly barbour.

I'm about to order sheepskin-lined walking boots :D and need to get some lightweight ones too (I like the look of the brasher Lithium GTX).

As you can see, I'll be spending quite a bit of money - I tend to do this. Not buy anything for ages, then do all the shopping one go! (I really, really want another pair of sheepskin boots, but need to lose weight and get some decent jeans first).

ETA - sheepskin-lined walking boots now ordered!

Better go and brave the outdoors now...
I bought DH some base layers for part of his Chrissie present and he said they have been brilliant (think 12 hour night shifts in this weather !!!!)

They had ladies in the shop when I bought them as well

Right I really only came up here to catch up while I drank my coffee but its long gone.

Off to trek the opposite way into town now I guess.

PS - What does anyone think of the sewing machine they have for £50 in Aldi at the mo. DD really enjoyed sewing yesterday and am thinking about it for her birthday pressie
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!
  • shhh - don't tell DS yet - he has another snowday tomorrow, with hopefully limited & phased returns on Tuesday. :j:j Staff and a few others going in tomorrow to clear paths, and more importantly the edges of the road & laybys for safe car pulling up.

Will write something useful to update the website after lunch which smells gorgeous. Off to cooking and S&Sing the kitchen - multitasking time...:D

    Moam
Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

    Morning everyone.

The snow is thawing here. Now we have a icy wind though. Not going far today I intend doing 10 mins in each room and I have some paperwork that needs shredding. Im thinking about what I want to achieve/do this year. Got a couple of ideas but need to think them through.

Careful Sorry to hear bout your Dad falling. Gentle hugs for him.

Diva Hugs Sorry to hear about your friend. Thinking of you both.
rach/greenbee/Mumof2. I love outdoor shops and am living in my walking stuff at the minute. Im looking at those Merrell shoes as I need a new walking pair. The fact you have walked miles in them is a good sign. Ive also been on craghoppers siteand ordered winter and summer trousers.
    Lady L thinking of you.
    Toots Big hugs.

Hello! I am fed up with the icy pavements and not being able to get out  No news about work tomorrow - not sure when I'll hear.

Going to have some lunch and then run the vacuum round to warm up - and that should get me some stars :D
No, definitely not, I do all that and my books are also in date order if I have a collection by the same author.

    Yep - I do that too :D

Hugs and prayers for you, Tris and your friend xx

BTW Update on the meet - there are now 5 flyladies confirmed for the meet on Saturday 10th April, and 4 maybes. Only one person in my spare room at the mo, so plenty of room for others who want to stay if they are travelling a long way.

The meet is in Chichester - be good to see as many as possible :D

If the school is closed then the child is not marked as absent. But usually the summer holiday will be marginally shorter. I gave up teaching 10 years ago, but when I did the county council set the school holidays for the whole area, and then the individual schools chose when to have the teacher training days, and also have a number (5?) of days which are usually included in the summer holiday, but can get used when the school has to close, for example on polling days, if the heating breaks or if they close to due snow.

Really? Our holidays are set by LEA apart from the 5 INSET days. I've never known us take days off of holidays in lieu of snow days  Pupils are definitely not marked as absent if school is closed though. If we are open but they can't get in because their transport is cancelled, they are counted as authorised absences.

    Hi all :hello:

I am a regular MSE'r but new to this board and am determined to 'streamline' my life this year :D.

I've looked at some of the threads and have a couple of questions if you don't mind ?

    1) The list on page 1 is Monday - Friday, are the weekends days off? :rotfl:
    2) I am employed 30 hours per week but based at home and although I can be a little flexible it is pretty much office hours. How does this work for those of you who are employed, or are most on here SAHM ?

    3) I have a husband and three teenage children - do you 'allocate' parts of the lists to your family members and if so what works for you ?

Hope you don't mind me starting off my first thread on here with questions but really do want to see how I can fit this into my life and I love the idea.
