In my opinion our visitor has already overstayed his welcome and he only turned up at 4pm!! Why do some people not think before they speak? I have stopped keeping quiet and have started challenging what he is saying although I think he probably wants that to happen. OHs brother is one of those people who talks loudly so people will listen. If you have done something then he has done it bigger and better. Maybe I shouldn't let it get to me.

Anyway, I remade the bed when we got in to have a break from our visitor. I have also just about finished my programme notes for my recital next week.

Have been sewing this afternoon - something I wanted to do not needed to do for a change.

Couldnt get grannys machine to work for DD so got my electric one out and allowed her to have a play on that . Actually she did really well and managed some really straight lines, much better than I could do, before making herself a bag from an old Tshirt :rotfl:

I have made a new PE bag for DD in black fur fabric with a great big pink smiley face and bright pink draw strings. She is happy with it. Then I made a HUGE bag (sort of box shape) to put all my Christmas wrapping paper in. By huge I mean about a metre long and about 1/2 metre tall and deep. I have decluttered the box of paper from thew landing and the ones from our bedroom into it too and its now in the attic for next year. PLEASE HOWEVER DO NOT LET ME BUY ANY MORE WRAPPING PAPER FOR 2010. There are now more than 40 rolls in that bag and at least half of them are unopened

The only other thing I have done is cooked tea for the 2 of us. Will have to go and clean that mess up now instead of facing it in the morning.

See you all tomorrow when the plan is

Go into town as DH birthday on Monday and havent got anything yet
Aldi for veg (will prob need to be early  so better set the alarm)
Redo Finances that got 'lost' last week
Roast Chicken dinner for DD and me

Rosepink - glad the rent is sorted and you feeling more positive
Greenbee - glad mum's fall wasnt serious
Agree with soappie about the DFW board for the debt free challenges, although agree it is good to post specific achievements.

Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

That is exactly what I am about to do. going to leave OH to deal with him, he gets annoyed too so I guess he will follow me pretty soon.

I hope he goes early tomorrow cos I want a nice peaceful day. I might lock myself upstairs if not.

Right off I go, sorry Toots and Pigpen for the off topic rants.

off topic rants are permitted at the weekends so worry not :Dbut not to worry.. she did need some stuff and I didn't have to pay.. the fact he has not given me a penny for them since October I'll not mention to anyone other than my solicitor!.. He told his solicitor he puts £450 into the joint account each month, £280 for the bank loan (which has been paid by debit card over the phone) and £170 for the children.. my bank statement states otherwise.. ;)

DD1 is back from her dads.. looks like he spent about £60 on her.. As well as all the stuff he got for himself.. apparently he made her choose some thermal vests.. come on.. how many 15 year old girls will wear vests to high school? They will probably be worn as tops during summer so will be worn.. but he is a twit.. I now have to take her shopping for bras and school shoes..

So.. how about next week we do the 5 thing challenge? and maybe 1 or 2 weeks after we do an ebay challenge?

If you wish to partake in our 5 thing challenge you need to think of 5 things you want to do or finish that have been put off for a while.. Big jobs can be broken down into reasonable manageable!! chunks to be done through the week. There will be no stars awarded for this BUT you will reap the benefits by seeing that it has been completed! This COULD become a monthly thing if it is helpful!

Off to my nest.. seeing as I have a sleep deficit from last night

I like the idea of the 5 things challenge:D

I'm off to pile up some papers into boxes as I've just noticed the time  Got lots of bank statements to file and they're currently spread all over the rug :o But I still haven't found this instruction booklet - I know I had it Boxing day, maybe a day or so afterwards, I just hope I haven't accidentally throw it out
