I'm fed up and haven't done much but don't know where the day has gone :o Hate not having a routine and not being able to get out and do stuff :o

I did venture out to the corner shop - it was a 35 minute round trip instead of the usual 10 minutes! But I do now have milk. I have no intentions of going out again unless things improve - I'm not a fan of ice-skating!

All my socks are in pairs :T :D They go into the wash in pairs, onto the line / radiators in pairs, into the drawer in pairs and then onto my feet in pairs :D

2 of the DVDs I put on play.com have sold and I have packaged them up and printed the postage but I am not going out to the post box yet.

I have cooked and eaten dinner, washed up, and sorted some paperwork. Recycling won't be collected until the next scheduled collection in 2 weeks - rubbish will be collected if and when they can get here.

    Welcome to any newbies

Jojo - well done for going to the GP; hugs x

Special hugs and prayers for Toots and L-L :A

Soappie a good idea but there is no grit here so not something we've even tried, in part I don't want them to get over confident about going out & about then falling on uncleared areas, if we remove the snow it's just going to be ice. It's a tricky one. I've opted for giving out our number instead so if they need anything it's just a call.
Pigpen we have some extremely stubborn ladies & gents here too, one told me 'I am fine I lived through the war & worse weather than this' so I pointed out with all due respect yes but you were younger then, let me help, she FINALLY backed down
Dusty a local school has banned snowballs & got on the news for it (aswell as being one that is open but they are on one of the towns busiest roads so it's been clear...anyway some disagree but while at schol I think the should be discouraged, it becomes a weapon & they end up soaked for the whole day.
toots not lovely just quite old fashioned way I was brought up, we had a very close community when I was little and the area I am originally from isn't small or quaint, very rough in fact but a huge community spirit especially in times of need. Noones ever bothered by a neighbour requesting a pot of sugar or even a loo roll, here people would probably think I was mad. I've met more neighbours than I have since I moved here since the weather turned.

Ok, not loads done but have cleaned laptop, cleared some rubbish, emptied some shopping, filled DW. Now I am wrapped up in one of my fleece blankets because I am sooooo cold but our gas usage is just crazy @ the mo. Boys have duvets, sheets, fleeces & a hot water bottle so they are fine. Think I might go to bed & do accounts in there, then just let dog out later on.

Got an email reply from waste management ( I sent it Chistmas eve) saying they know we have had no collection since 17th Dec but will be round when they can. So they have a reply asking for notification to all residents regarding when they can so we can put it out as the weekly dragging it out and back for nothing is hazardous for all residents. If they had collected X Eve and NY Eve when the weather wasn't that bad at all it would be fine but they used it as a day off and I know this now as I know someone who works for the service. I feel like a right moan but the tip is closed, there is rubbish everywhere inc strewn about and hidden under snow, when the snow goes there will be a rotten stinking mess.
One day I might be more organised...........

Sorry but 2 off point notes
    1. while going through junk drawer today I found the Mass card for my Uncle who died almost 3 years ago (1 month after MIL+FIL passing away), and I was brought to tears
    2. I know The street is not real but Sally talking about her Ca***r (sorry but don't like the word)....just brings home what all those we have lost and those still going through it have to deal with.

    HUGE HUGS TO ALL XX

I am sure, as well as this thread, that we know someone going through the pain xx

Cheers toochoosey. Think that's what threw me. Found DS1's memory box (current DS is really DS2). Still hurts after nearly 10 years. Doesn't get any less painful, you just get slightly more used to it.

Anyway. Had a bath in my sparking bathroom and admired my reflection in my sparkly tiles. Thanks to whoever gave me the advice to admire my sparkly bits! Feel better now and will re-convene tomorrow.

PS BenW you get a private star from me for all your hard work this week.:cheesy:

    IMPORTANT QUESTION..

What jobs do people specifically want on the list next week?

you know those bits you look at week after week and think.. hmm.. I can pretend that's not on this weeks list so I'll leave it being an eye sore!?? My entire house is like that.. but come on.. tell me about your messy corners! I am bored of writing the same tasks week in week out.. I want something new!

And.. no you aren't having the week or even a day off..

rude word, rude word, rude word

the stupid big of pants zanussi dishwasher has just died yet again. the resident engineer assures me that no amount of shouting and whacking with a hammer will make the pump function again.

I can't afford a new one, and I spent £10 yesterday on 120 Finish tablets in the co-op.

    I hate washing up

Please tell me your secret. DS1 has lots of very similar pairs of black socks and pairing them up is just driving me mad.

Mrs Chaos - socks, be ruthless. Bin them all, buy ten identical pairs. Wait till the problem starts again and repeat. Wasteful, expenisive, but oh so liberating.

If I didn't do it I could afford a new dishwasher though......
