(((hugs))) and lots of good luck vibes jojo

DW has been emptied and WM on (actually, it probably needs moving to the TD now). Work laptop has suddenly packed up, just when I was settling down to do some writing, which I'm NOT happy about! Hopefully it will sort itself out, otherwise I'm going to have to try to get into the office on Monday morning.

Off to have supper and read a trashy novel while sulking about the laptop :p

Me too...hopefully DS will settle easily tonight so that I can have some time. What are you knitting? I've got an Aran jacket/coat for DD on the needles....

    Right...I'm off again...

I'm doing DS an Aran jumper. I'm quite inexperienced at knitting and DD, despite my warning, picked up my knitting and dropped 3 stitches which I just couldn't pick up so had to start again :mad::mad:. That WON'T be happening again!

JoJo is this normal behaviour for DD or only since she came back from her father's - if he spoke to her would it make any difference? you have enough on your plate without this from her - be selfish for now and put yourself first - I love the fact you have cancelled her money! could she stay longer with her father until she realises you are not an ogre!
Hope the doctor's appointemnt went ok and you feel calmer about the lump.
greenbee its not very MSE to go and buy more thermals and fleeces just because you have run out of clean ones:p

Hi ladies, I read this thread every day but dont post. You all give me the incentive to keep up :) Love listening to you all :) Today however I am being derailed by an incalcitrant Dyson grrrr does it want to pick anything up? NO , four times over a crumb and I gave up and picked the thing up manually. sheesh. ok back to lurking sorry to interrupt.
Jojo sending hugs of encouragement to you
    xxx
Hi buggalugs I hope you dont spend all your precious time reading our drivel!!!:rotfl: hope you get the dyson going - like Valli said it sounds like a hose blockage. Can I add you to the list?????
Dorastar (((hugs))) hope you hava chance for a snooze and DS sleeps better tonight. how concerning that must be to deal with.
LameWolf try to change the bad vibes into good ones by making that spare room into something nice and pleasant/pretty/relaxing or cosy - while you are working in there be sure to have some of your fav music to help you along. and only do 15 min stretches so you are not getting to stresssed or overwhelmed with it.
LadyL you should know that you have special dispensation to post without any flying - you NEVER clog up the thread honey (((hugs))) and yes personal checking is very important and get to the doc as soon as you think something is wrong - its better for it to be a false alarm than it be too late. if you dont think about yourself think the ones you would leave behind if your life would be cut short. I am the same as LadyL with a limited time left through cancer and a muscle disease so keep on top of your own health and make each day count.

valli if you still have the eye shadow could I get it please - I want to try and do more with my eyes!!!
BenW well done to you honey for your first week but dont despair that you havent got stars - you have to remember that a lot of us have been doing this for years so it doesnt take so long to whizz round - the longer you stick with us and do the lists as best you can the sooner you will get things under control - obviously you have alterations and/or decorating on the go so there is extra mess and equipment about and until thats finished you maybe wont get stars but you are making progress - :T:T:T for doing the kitchen floor - the spare room/s need to be tackled before they get any worse so when you see it on the list why not promise yourself to do half an hour in the one thats least chaotic first - set the timer, open the door and deal with the first thing that comes to hand - dont just shift it try to actually find a permanent home for it and then go back and get something else until the timer goes - if you keep doing a little oftem you will find its not such a huge chore. And warn everyone in the house that nothing else gets dumped in there on pain of death!!!!!!:rotfl:
toochoosey - take it easy and make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids (not alcohol though:rolleyes:)
pooh the decluttering is very important so dont be too worried about stars - i am sure you will feel so much better to get rid of the clutter and it makes cleaning easier too - its brilliant that you have put your enforced 'captivity' to such good use:T:T:D
Jo :rotfl::T:rotfl::T well done ith the bedroom but psml at the socks:rotfl: dont you dare thow them away - do them while you watch a film :D
Mumof2 put your venetian blinds in the bath with biological wasing powder and leave to soak - the dirt will wash off or even rinse off so much easier - normally i would suggest putting them over the washing line but not in this weather so a couple of big bath towells on the floor to take the worst off before you hang them back up - and your bath gets a nice clean too.
good to see you posting natty i thought you might have gone into hibernation:rotfl: I am with you with keeping the heating on overnight I couldnt cope with burst pipes.
valli stick to your guns honey - you are doing a great job trying to make him realise about money and keeping up with the house rules - he will learn the hard way and thank you for it one day (((hugs)))
LameWolf thats brilliant what you have done and does get you a star - I hope you will feel better after you have had a rest - i think yu are pushing yourself too far and have too high a target. take it slow and steady - what does it matter if you dont manage everything on the list it will appear next week again! make sure you still find something nice to do this evening or tomorrow that is for you and gives you pleasure. (((hugs)))
Jojo awhh (((hugs))) sweetie - well done for going and although I know its hard try not to dwell on the next 2 weeks - the doctor is taking the correct steps and it could be a benign lump so - NO self diagnosing!!!!!!!!! try to arrange someone to be with you on the day because if its nothing you will still need a shoulder to cry on (tears of relief!)
nice work lil_me you are a lovely person:A

Jojo, big hugs love. I have everything crossed that there's nothing to worry about and that the two week rule means you're seen next Tuesday morning and are given the all clear the very same afternoon xxx

Have decluttered a bit of Gordon at NN's and said I'll run her into work tomorrow morning to save her getting a taxi - it'll mean I'm up and out early and can do the food shopping on the way back then settle in for the weekend should the weather turn worse like it's threatening to.

Looking (and walking up!) my street today, it's really quite treacherous. The main roads nearby are clear but our pavements are lethal and we have several elderly and less fleet of foot living on it. I'm wondering if I could organise a community street clear day on spec tomorrow.....get all the blokes out with shovels etc. Trouble is I don't know where I'd find a supply of salt or grit large enough to deal with the whole stretch. (It's only a short road - 33 houses in all).

Hmmm, I'll think about that problem whilst I do dinner...

Oooh, forgot to mention - seems the office took my strongly stated advice which I reiterated several times to high up people this morning and have postponed the exams scheduled for Monday morning and have said the situation re the whole site being opened will be reviewed at 06.30 Monday morning.

was hearing on the radio that hospitals are overwhelmed with fractures...would suspect that there are A LOT of broken wrists...

There are so many old ladies and gents with broken bones here they have a full gynae ward and they were putting them on the maternity wards yesterday.. the orthopaedic wards have the most serious cases, the men have been allocated the general and geriatric wards and the ladies shunted to the maternity/gynae unit.. I cannot comprehend why they think they will be ok to go out in this.. they are so keen to claim special dispensation for their age when it comes to being rude to people so surely they can now when it is a hazard to their health to go out.

I bet 90% of newsagents would be more than happy to send a pint of milk round with their paper is they asked.

Another reason it is very sad that families are separated by hundreds of miles when they should be caring for their older relatives.. we have deemed my youngest sister as senile parent carer.. she is forbidden to marry and has the onerous task of looking after my cantakerous mother when she gets old and even more grouchy and difficult than she is now.. I like being the oldest sometimes.

Jojo.. most docs would send any woman to be checked out quickly with breast lumps.. and there is usually nothing to worry about.. when my mother went the nurse said most lumps had totally gone by the time the 2 weeks came round. It isn't worth worrying until you know if it is justified.. big big hugs xxx
