Little bit of snow here overnight, but no problem getting to school. Our head said in assembly that he would keep the school open - but then they rarely get enough snow to matter. I live just about 30 minutes from school, and the main road is gritted. The probelm is getting on to that main road - 10 minutes up and down hills. That's the road I was stuck on for an hour on Sunday, and was absolutely petrified when the double decker bus was sliding towards me. I wouldn't want to let the school down, but likewise, I'd quite like to live to get back to my own children!

Just waiting for the second lot of bedlinen to dry to go back on the bed. I need to pop out to S'bury's to get some red kidney beans as I fancy making chilli, and inexplicably we don't have any in the cupboard.

rant alert
at the risk of becoming the most unpopular person on this thread I have to point out that there are far tooooooooooooooooooo many off topic posts with no mention of flying.
we have loads new members just now so there are loads more posts than normal but off topic posts are making it very difficult for people to keep up.
several regulars have mentioned that the thread is too long and they havent bothered or are only reading the last few posts.
we have been in this position before and pigpen pulled us back in line and we agreed that chat would be kept to the weekend - I have already asked you to keep the one line and short posts to a minimum but nobody has taken the blind bit of difference.
we dont want the thread to become so large that we draw attention to ourselves by the powers that be - we are lucky with our BG who tries to keep an eye on us but we could do better.
we are already over 1000 posts and it is only wednesday!
NOW I AM BEGGING YOU ...........please keep post on topic - I need to read all the posts to look for stars so try very hard to do this for me.
you have Facebook for chatting and I am not on it so you can moan about me to your hearts content and I wont know!.
thanks everyone

Peace will be mine

My kitchen was spotless this morning.... I flied, I worked, I then felt guilty and took little one and the dog out for a while. I met my friend and her little boy and went sledging and snowball fighting. The boys came back here with me, soaked to the bone and freezing, so they got undressed in the kitchen and wrapped in cozy blankets and popped on the sofa with a cartoon and I went to make them some hot chocolate to cozy them up.
I wiped up the kitchen floor of snow.....all spick and span again
Then I warmed the milk for their hot choclate - and flipping spilled it all over the place - but I sort of dropped it too, so not only was it all over the surfaces, it sort of splashed up the way too!
It was all over the microwave, the units, the cupboard door, inside the cupboard, all over the dishes, all over the hob, in the cutlery drawer, all over the floor, all over the top cupboards too - and more importantly, all over my flipping to-do pile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Sometimes lurking, sometimes posting, but always flying

Sorry toots.
I have unloaded the wm, and s and sd the kitchen. I have also arranged another water test so we can go back on well water.
soappie it is sooo lovely to hear from BB and to see the lady herself.
parsnip soup was a great triumph, even fussy DD1 ate some.
Is the popularity of this thread a common thing in the new year, with some good intentions falling off later? Just a thought, as I wasn't here a year ago.
eta emptied compost caddy too. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Rant number two: I got to our local Tesco and the lady in front of me put 12 x 4 pints of milk in her trolley!!! I bought the pint of milk the lady wanted and a four pint carton of milk for us. This left 2 x 4 pints on the shelf. Did she really need to buy all that milk???? As I was leaving the shop I heard people arguing and it was the milk lady and an elderly gentleman who'd gone in for milk. She said she 'needed it so she could freeze some so she wouldn't run out' - why are people such selfish pigs!
12 x 4 pints :eek::eek: What size of freezer would she need to store that? Selfish cow  OK, have ventured out. Its a blinking nightmare. Took DD to the doctors. She has a bad ear infection so got her anti-biotics. Picked up bread and milk (2 loaves, as it was 2 for £2) and 2l of milk. Also managed to dig out the recycling boxes and plough my way up to the composter so some stuff has been decluttered. Have managed to take down the decs so just need to do some dusting0 -
Just nipping in with my list update. I'm still not keeping up with the thread so,

Oh! and I found my spending diary:rolleyes:

Hello - we've been out for a walk to the shop and they didn't have any milk because the delivery couldn't get to the village. Our friends from the next road carried on to Mr S and got us some banana milk! There is no fresh milk in the whole village
I'm afraid our walk completely wore me out, and the only flying I've done is put away dry washing. However, I do intend to more tidying and to make DH take pics of things to list on ebay - he's watching Happy Feet right now.Now don't be silly.. I'd have to believe in something in order to be able to contract it.. My throat is feeling a touch better today but I still just want to sleep... after getting up late as it was! Plus that was 7 months ago.. if I was going to get anything related to that it would have happened months ago
Vanilla I hope you are feeling better soon xx
Hugs Helen and Mr Jelly, would you like me to kick your mum for you?
