To keep all posts into one, Id thought id start this thread for all people to add there comments and reviews etc for the Nokia N900.

I view so far and reading lots and lots of people posts on this phone. Its a new device and I think one that all mobiles will go by and you cannot compare this to any other phone on the market, why you may ask, as this has an operating system like your one at home and its based on linux, a very popular operating system. Apps? this will be flooded with apps this year, bigger than iphone as developers can easy change there apps on linux to this and dont have to learn anything to.

Nokia's site: http://maemo.nokia.com/n900/

Some of the good reviews (just search "nokia n900 review" on google and youtube, there are tons):

ive just got mine vodafone with mobiles.co.uk, think also on tmobile with them or think I see this with e2save. All carphonewarehouses have this phone in stock. Ring before going down there, as its a brand new phone. vodafone have said it will come after the iphone release, so wait another few weeks for that.

You can buy it sim free from nokia.co.uk for £499.

Seems like Vodafone are now stocking them. However on their website the deals seem inferior to that of Carphone warehouse who offer more minutes and lower monthly deals including a free phone. How do they do that, are they paying less for the phones from Nokia??
  • got mine today, it's the first phone i've had with a qwerty keyboard and it's taking some getting used to. tried downloading some apps but it's going very slow, not liking that it doesn't have MMS either, did Nokia not see the iPhone issues with this?! hopefully this will come with firmware updates though.

I was planning on giving my Mum my Nokia 5800 but i think i'll hold onto it for a week first to make sure im totally happy!

What I;d like to know, if you get a n900 eg upgrade via CPW website, can you still downgrade tariffs in 9 months?

    Scott
  • i think you'll be able to downgrade but it might be 12 months before you can, it usually depends which network you're with so best to check with them.

Got mine today and think its a good phone, but im not a fan of touch screens, so this is hard to get used to.

More apps when you app manager, then at top, says application manager, touch that, then, then application catalogue, go to maemo estras, untick disabled.

Best if you add your wireless lan to the internet connections, always helps. 2g internet will be very slow.
