I wonder what the inappropriate post was? I thought this was an entirely innocent discussion...If you will the end, you must will the means.0

I always buy good icecream, but not often as I just eat it! Cheap icecream tastes horrible." The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

teabags-i hate anything but the ones with the pyramid, but this month have bought value cos we bit skint, but will be back to the pyramids at end of month0 -
I won't buy "value" bread unless there literally is no other alternative (not having sandwiches often counts as an alternative when there's still other food in the house)! and then it would have to be brown. Cheap white bread is vile IMHO and you might as well eat cardboard. But then I know some people wont eat bread that's been frozen where as I always look for good bread at reduced prices and try to always have a spare loaf in the freezer.
I have tried baking my own bread but I'm not really very good at it, and it doesn't help that neither of us like crusty bread.
We don't drink that many fizzy drinks generally, so with cola it has to be Pepsi Max or Coke zero, and I will only buy if it's on offer and would never pay more than 99p for a bottle. We don't often drink alcohol so if we do buy any we tend to get our favourite brand, and I don't think I've bought cheap booze since I was a teenager, with one exception - I will drink Lambrini mixed with orange juice if I want to get in a really cheap drink!
In the past when money was really tight we only had the cheapest everything, I wouldn't like to go back to that.
My mum will only buy Nescafe or occasionally Kenco I think it is. She also only ever buys peach coloured "posh" loo roll, where as I think I have a loo roll addiction (I know I always use loads but can't help it,:o:o so I just buy the cheap stuff).
Since the quality of cheap sausages seems to have really gone down hill I now buy less sausages, but better quality. We like Asdas beef sausages, and M&S 93% pork sausages.
But I just found this: http://www.food.gov.uk/multimedia/pdfs/sausagefattable.pdf so I think I might start looking for an alternative high meat sausage with a lower fat content, and see if they still taste as gorgeous as the M&S ones.A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -
I don't do cheap loo roll, coffee, washing powder, shampoos, shower gels, toothpaste or soap"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Fair trade tea, coffee, sugar, honey. Without wanting to come over all preachy, I think however bad things are here, we're still a heck of a sight better of than some other places, and every little helps! All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

I have to agree!
Not noticed the same with washing liquid/powder so much though. That said I stocked up on fairy washing up liquid and surf concentrate months, and moths ago when they were on sale, so I haven't had to buy anything else in absolutely ages!A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0
